Q: We are getting new carpet in our house. What is the best kind of carpet that is good quality and warrenty wise. And also what colors are the best too use for a BIG living area. Thanks: As far as carpet goes pick one out that is beautiful, but can take alot of traffic. Most folks don't know that, carpet is carpet and the real secret to a plush feel is in the padding. You can spend alot of $ on fancy carpet, but if the carpet pad is not of high quality, then you might as well have purchased low grade carpet.

Q: What glue does the square carpet glue to the ground?: Double sided adhesive glue on the top slab carpet thorn.It is recommended that you do not glue it. Once the carpet doesn't work, it will be troublesome to clean the glue. The better thing is to use double glue to prick the top, so that it can be reused.

Q: I have 13 grandchidren and want to put in a carpet that is stain resistant and wearable: Guitar has some very good points on the stain resistance in a carpet but I have to choose a pure nylon carpet for durability. These fibers are treated now with a heat set in texture retention that when properly cleaned the fibers will come back to life and stand back up. These fibers you are walking on the tops of , and this is what you want. Berber , since your walking on the yarn side, has a tendency to matt and crush. Most berbers are also made of an Olefin/ nylon mix. While Olefin is a good stain block by nature, it is a softer yarn. So it boils down to a good stain blocker set into the fiber as its made ( not topically applied ) nylon and a good anti matt/ anti crush warranty. Nothing less than 10 years. Not all stuff will come out of a carpet . The trick is to properly treat spills right away and in a way the manufacturer suggests. Plus the daily vacuuming and at a minimum of once a year a professional , certified carpet cleaner. Mohawk and shaw make some good products. Q: I have a smallish (3ft by 5ft) area rug that needs to be cleaned. It's not worth enough to pay a cleaner and I have hardwood floors so I'm not trying to rent a steam cleaner. I was thinking about using a clothes line between two trees and hosing it down real well with a pressurized garden hose... I have tried vacuuming and quot;beatingquot; the rug with a stick, but there is a dingy coloration that I think needs water/washing to get it looking nice. I wasn't going to use any detergents, just water and a scrub brush then let it air dry for a day or so. Does this seem like at least a semi-good idea? I'll sooner throw the rug out and spend money on a new one than spend money cleaning this one. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!: Most rugs can be washed in the washing machine... ld water, liquid laundry detergent, no fabric softener. Then hang the rug to air dry. Machine drying can destroy a rug. If your rug is plush and appears matted after it dries, toss it in the dryer on No Heat or Fluff and run the dryer for about 20 minutes. This will fluff the rug back up without destroying the rug with heat.

Q: Smup pump broke and water leaked on to the carpet: Use Fabbreeze in your carpet cleaner. Or some type of bio smell attacker. You want something that elemantes oders. But put the product if liquid in the carpet cleaner. and make sure you have a carpet cleaner not exstractor. The exstractor will only pull water out of your carpet where as a cleaner will clean the carpet and pull the water. You may have to pull the carpet up to let the pad under dry then spray the pad with your desmelling product. hope this helps.

Q: could i turn my highland out in winter with a summer turnout/sheet with a rambo fleece underneath ( best fleece on the market ) because hes a highland i dont want him caked in thick heavy turnouts. i just think a summer turnout would be enough to keep the snow off his fleece which is really what i want. i will only use this method on snowy/frosty days.: I think you can use a summer rug with a under rug that can keep him warm, if the snow melts in the middle of the night and the water wont soak the fleece. I bought a waterproof and durable HH summer rug for my pony, and I used it with a under rug. Also you can buy a proper turnout rug.;)

Q: I'm getting ready to put new frieze carpet (similar to a shaggy carpet). I have a dyson vacume cleaner I have heard that it doesnt vacume that well on frieze carpet. Is that true? Is that type of carpet durable? Thanks for your feedback.: I can't answer for the dyson question, but I have frieze carpet in my house and love it. the husband wanted full blown shag and I compromised (I wanted berber) any way, it is durable, tough and does not mat.really happy with it and we have it in the highest traffic areas of our house - the hallway and stairs as well as the master bathrooms. every time I vacuum, it looks just like it did the day they put it in. I have a kirby and vacuuming it is a breeze. I have not had any issues other than not being able to find earrings in the carpet if I drop them. It cleans beautifully as well.
