Q:i recently had a basement flood which covered the floor in 4 inches of water.After using two pond vacuum's, and a carpet shampoo and water extractor, the carpet and the pad are still wet. I would love to get the same carpet as i had. They do not have it on the Abbey carpet site anymore...HERE IS THE CARPET THAT WE HAD.

If its not on the Abbey site there are only 2 reasons for this.. The carpet is no longer made and discontinued or who ever you bought the carpet from has private labeled the carpet so no one shopping for an Abbey carpet ( or any thing else in their store) won t be able to cross shop and price compare. Big box stores are know to do this and some mom and pop stores. I never did. Now a suggestion.. Pull up the carpet and the pad. The pad is probably ruined. The carpet is more often than now salvageable if you can get it to dry. Or get a professional carpet cleaner in to vac out the carpet. they may be able to pull out enough water and along w/ fans and a dehumidifier, you may be able to save it. Q:We've recently moved houses and have found there is sandflies/biting insects everywhere. Into the afternoon my TB mare especially is being eaten alive by the insects and is rubbing herself on the fences and she now is starting to loose her coat because of it. I'm looking at buying at coat for her that we can put on her to hopefully stop the insects but as well the sun, but I have know idea what type of rug I should get her... We live in a really hot and humid area so we need something cool. Is there anyone who can help??

There are several types of rug you can get. Weatherbeeta make an insect shield rug. They also make a range of mesh rugs, as do other brands. I just use a simple 60% cotton summer sheet on my horse in summer. That keeps the insects off him.

Yes they are industrial quality cleaners. It may take a long time. We run our Rug Doctor for over 5 hours cleaning our carpet when it is really bad. Use Clorox2 with your detergent. That helps with really bad spots.As long as you use the anti-foam you can use other detergents. Like dawn on your bad grease spots but don't use too much it suds up alot. We use laundrt detergent.

Q:Ok so my friend threw up on my other friends carpet so she freaked and grabed toliet cleaner and put it on the carpet and then it hardend now its stiff on the carpet. Q:I am having someone put in carpet tiles in a house and we have the carpet pad to go underneith. Does it go, Carpet pad, glue, and then carpet tiles? What should I tell them?

I've never heard of any one putting carpet pad down before applying carpet tiles. I have seen them install regular carpet they always glue the pad down place the carpet on top of that. If you don't get a better answer to your question I would call Home Depot ask them. I did find the instructions below for installing carpet tiles but no mention of carpet pad. DIRECT STICK CARPET TILES The carpet tiles are adhered to the sub floor using Roberts 656 Carpet Tile Double Bond Underlay Adhesive. The sub floor should first be primed with Roberts 370 Floor Wall Primer prior to the application of the carpet tile adhesive. If the carpet tile is laid into a wet film of adhesive it forms an almost permanent bond between the carpet tile and sub floor. The carpet tiles may also be laid into the adhesive when it has dried to a clear tacky film allowing them to be more easily removed if repairs or replacement is required.
