- bones makes many types of bearings. Some are ABEC rated and the better ones are not. The ABEC rating is for vibration in high speed machines that run at speeds similar to skating over 200 mph. They are not the best design for skating but companies make a lot of them for other reasons and it is cheaper to get them than a design that is custom made. Bones, Twin Cam, Zero Drag, and some other companies have custom designs for their better bearings.

- skateboard bearings are the small metal donut shaped peices that go inside the wheels to make them roll. there are 2 bearing per wheel and the better the bearing, the more smooth and fast you will roll on your board.

- Maybe. If the rod bearings are shot but the crank has not been damaged the bearings can be replaced with the engine essentially in place. If the crank has been damaged the engine has to come out, making it a bigger job, but still within the range of a dedicated DIYer. Generally, if the engine has been operated with a bad rod knock it will need a replacement crank kit.

- i would recomend,well it all depends on what you are doing with it speed skating like me or abec 5 for just regular speed skating.the diffrence is speed and durabilty.
- Q:okay so i just wanted to know where i could get the bearing cage retainer( holds the bb's ) i came across a site but i want to find something thats cheaper in price but still last a good or long amount of time, and also they have the bb's but they dont say how much come with the purchase and dont know which brand is good.so if you know anything about which is a good brand please help me out.i want ones that spin good and good cage retainers.please give me the sites if you know any or where i can get them.oh and for skateboards just in case anyone missed that the first time.and dont write me saying just purchase them at a skate shop.i already have bearings in my tool box that need to be cleaned i just want to get some cage retainers and the right sized bb's.thanks.
