Q:I got a frame. But it looks like it uses a different size than an easter bike
You may need to be more specific with the question but i assume that you are talking about the bottom bracket bearings. In BMX there are various BB (bottom bracket) sizes there are, Euro BB, Spanish BB, American BB and Mid BB. The most commonly used BB is the Mid which most BMX frames use now days, the American BB is quite old and dated the other BB that you may see is the Spanish BB which is used by various companies one being Fly Bikes (being a spanish company). You may find that your Hoffman frame has a Mid BB and the Eastern frame you own has a Spanish BB the most common difference is the Mid is larger than the Spanish, unless you provide some more information i suggest that you go to your local bike shop and ask for their opinion or help. Good luck!
Q:i was wondering if i could put abec7 bearings in a wave board. has anyone done that? let me know!
ABSOLUTELY! I've been ridin' The Wave for a couple of years now, and I def switched over to better bearings once I was ready. You def want to make sure that you have mastered ridin' the board before you make the switch. I'm pretty sure that Street Surfing is going to start making upgrades available, but until then, go for it. Just be ready for the faster speed. If you haven't checked out their website I'd give it a look, some cool vids/pics there, even some 'how to' vids if you're looking for some tricks to do ( THEWAVE.COM ). Hope that helps you out, the answer to your question is YES! Upgrading the bearings is something that anyone can do to their wave board, I would actually suggest it for more experienced riders. See ya on the Streets!!!
Q:i want something thatl go fast
I'll cover some basics with you about advanced longboarding. I'll first start by talking about trucks and bushings, then I'll move on to bearings. Longboarding can be divided into two sub-categories, that is downhill riding and free riding. Now each type of riding has different sets of parts which differ from each other to provide maximum performance for the style of riding. Downhill boards are usually at top performance with trucks that have a 42 degree base plate. You will sacrifice the maneuverability and carving ability of trucks with 50 degree base plates to sturdiness if you get 42's. However, you will be able to handle speed much better on 42's and the risk of 'speed-wobbles' will go down. Bushings are pretty difficult to choose. With all different hardnesses and shapes, it's hard to recommend anything that you will be satisfied with. Bearings are simple. Any bearings are basically the same but MAKE SURE you get completely sealed bearings. Ceramic bearings are pricey but supposedly improve performance. I recommend you look into Randall or Paris for trucks (180mm standard), Khiro for bushings (unnecessary), and Bones for bearings.
Q:and what are they used for?
honestly i dont remember all to well, i had a boyfriend in hs that skated and he would take me to skate with him and i havent gotten on a board for years, lol. or go to ur local skate shop. :)
Q:i dont understand much about cars so can u explain it so i can understand
the bearings are the attachment points for spinning parts. they allow virtually frictionless rotation with oil lubrication. think of a hand held pinwheel. the propellor is turning on a shaft. this is an example of a bearing on a shaft.
Q:what bearings are faster? black panter bearings or red bones bearings?
bones reds are faster, and lasted me longer than black panther did. theres a smiply reasoning behind this. Reds are made by Bones with speicallizes in skateboard bearings and makes the most top of the line bearings out there Black Panthers, made by Shorty's arent nearly as good quality as the majority of shorty's efforts go to things like decks bushings hardwear and bearings so they cant make them of such a good quality.
Q:And can u also tell me how to clean abec 9 bearings? and grease them?
The preferences are based on what works for you. For cleaning the bearings, I use lamp oil (desented kerosene) because it cleans out anything. I then wash it out with denatured alcohol which also dries the bearings. If you use a water based cleaner like citrus cleaners, do not soak them overnight since it can damage the bearings. Almost anything works for lubricants. Super light things like the sprays don't last very long. Some people spray them every time they go out. Oils roll quickly right away but are not as waterproof as greases or last very long. Greases are slower at the start but will last a lot longer. Use very little. A drop or two of oil or a few pin head sized blobs of grease.
Q:im a begginer in skateboarding so i wanted to know if abec 5 bearings were good bearings and if not wich ones should i get tahnk u!!!
The type of the ABEC would not confirm how briskly you flow, basically how long the wheel retains spinning once you provide up pushing. somewhat, it relies upon on the skater. even inspite of the undeniable fact that, in case you sense as while you're having to paintings extra sturdy, you have got tightened the nut too lots. ONe solid thank you to decide the terrific suited tightness is as quickly as you have tightened the nut, make optimistic the wheel isn't wobbly, then spin the wheel and count type 10 seconds. After ten seconds the wheel could nevertheless be rotating (slowing down, yet nevertheless moving). If the wheel would not spin for no less than 10 seconds, then loosen the nut in user-friendly terms slightly then attempt returned.
Q:I heard that gas makes skateboard bearings go fast and go a long time. Can you do it with sealed bike bearings? If so, how long should it soak?
Forget it - immediately. First off, cleaning anything with gasoline is a very dangerous fool's project. Secondly, gasoline is a solvent - not a lubricant - and it will wash any lubricant that's in the bearings out and the bearings will run dry. Needless to say, they won't last very long without grease - and they certainly won't go fast unless you're referring to their life expectancy.
Q:ok. i got a new pack of bones reds and new wheels. i dont know how to put the bearings in properly though. if I push them in all the way to where the axel goes throgh the wheel there is a good 3mm gap between the bearing and the edge of the wheel, which i'm assuming would make it difficult to get the bearings off. should the bearings go in like that or should they only go to the edge of the wheels? thanks
Put lube around the sides then put it in the side of the wheel. To put it in all the way just use the axle of the truck to push it in.
