Q: so when i turn the water on this horrible smell comes from the bathroom sink. what can i use to get rid of it?: I would try vinegar and/or baking soda. You could also try boiling a pot of water and then pouring the hot water down the drain. You could also go to a home improvement store and buy a snake to try dislodging anything that could be stuck in there and causing the odor. I wouldn't pour bleach or any other chemical down the drain in case it is sewer gas. The bleach and the gases could combine to make you sick, or worse yet, go kaboom! Call your landlord or a plumber if general cleaning doesn't work.

Q: my sink has a stench coming up from the drain i believe. not sure what it is or how it got to smell so bad, but seems like it only comes up when i turn the water on(like the water gets the smell moving). really dont know what to do here? any advice?: The P trap is dirty this is the drain directly under your sink. There is no need to call a plumber you should be able to do this yourself. remove every thing from under your sink use a small bucket to place under the trap because there will be some water not much, loosen the plastic fittings twist the nuts to the left to take them off and turn them to the right to put them on you may need to use a tool to break or loosen the nut if it is to tight. After you have cleaned the trap out (washed it and removed what ever is in it ) put the trap back together loosely at first to fit every thigh up then you can hand tighten the nuts keep the bucket under the sink put some water in the sink and then drain as you are looking at the trap for leak tighten as required.

Thanks in advance!: Not hard 1. turn off both water valves under the sink turn both taps on full to drain the pressure off the line 2.get pliers like channel locks, or adjustable wrench remove water lines not at the valve but at the faucet bottom under the cabinet. 3 unscrew counterclockwise both lines a little water may come out its normal if it appears to be continuous tighten the valves more. 4 Under the water lines are the hold down nuts remove both and pull unit out from topside then repeat the procedure in reverse, use Teflon tape on the threads to help aid sealing and prevent water from rusting them together, make sure everything is tight and turn the valves on You may want to remove the aerator under the nozzle just in case the lines are old and rusty let run for a minute or two then screw the aerator back on . if all rusty you may have to break the nuts on the bottom side that holds it on its not a big deal considering it toast anyway. make sure you bring a flash light and wear glasses because stuff will fall into your eyes 3-4 wraps clockwise with the Teflon tape on each thread you can pre wrap the faucet prior to install. I don't beleive the snake goes all the way to the roof (but I'm sure it's close). Are wasps or birds blocking it? Do you have the problem in winter also?
