- Q: It eventually accumulates to the point that the drain gets backed up, draino doesn't really help. We have to take the whole stopper part out and pull out the gunk. It doesn't happen in my other sinks.
- A rather unpleasant answer, but here goes. What goes down your bathroom sink drain is known as "Grey Water". It consists of water (naturally), hair, soap, shampoo, dead skin, shavings and other nasty things. Your bathroom sink drain is most probably slower to empty than your actual bath, hence the "gunk" is not flushed away. To alleviate the problem, obtain caustic soda crystals, take out your plug, pour as much crystals as you can into the drain, leave overnight if possible, the water in the u-bend will be enough to start the crystals working. Rinse through with hot water in the morning, job done. NB, treat caustic soda crystals as toxic and strong alkaline, take precautions as regards eyes, hands etc, and ensure all the soda has gone before using the sink. You may have to do this more than once, but it does work.
- Q: Bathroom wash basin what material is good
- Ceramic, looks more upscale, the overall mix is also simple.
- Q: What is the quality of the wash basin, what are the different types of washbasin material?
- Toughened glass basin is a common material basin, its biggest feature is the strong anti-fouling ability, easy to clean, and the steel basin style and diverse, full of personality, easy to different needs of customers choose.
- Q: bathroom sink?
- Many moons ago, this was called an S trap; today, it's called a P trap, not because it traps pee, but, presumably, because it's P-shaped. Anywho, if plumbing went straight to the sewer with nothing in between, you would be forced to endure the entrance of sewer gases from the sewer--smelly and dangerous. So there is the trap under the sink, where a small amount of water stays trapped in the bend of the pipe, and acts as a barrier between the sewer gases and the air from the trapped water to the pipe going toward the sink. Though it can be a nuisance, it is also nice to be able to retrieve a fallen ring by just removing the trap. So you absolutely need this piece of plumbing.
- Q: Our bathroom sink gets clogged too easily so I wanted to know some ways to unclog it quickly.
- After you get it unclogged try pouring 1/2 cup baking soda and 2 cups white vinegar down all your drains once a month.
- Q: Tried cleaning all pieces. Made rope of plumbers putty, slipped it under flange and then tightened down. Looks like most of putty oozed out. water does not drip from under sink, it just runs into drain.
- plumbers putty is used around the top piece that you see in your sink it goes under that and no where else if you have a leak some where else if it is on a threaded portion of pipe use teflon tape
- Q: How to unclog bathroom sink
- Under the sink there is a P-Trap Research that on line and you'll see how easy it is to open that and drain the water. Also it will easily disassemble so you can clean it out. Hope this helps. 'av'a g'day mate. )
- Q: The bathroom sink has a single spout, so we would only connect the cold water hose. The unit we are moving to does not have laundry taps, hence this question. If need be we can drain the washing machine into buckets. Does anyone know if it is safe to connect the washing machine to bathroom taps?
- You'll need to buy new taps, you can buy a combo one that has the threaded section for attaching the washer hose to and a standard tap that you can still use for washing your hands in the sink. Check out your local hardware or plumbing suppliers. Drain the machine into the bathtub or run the hose down the floor drain, the cover should be able to be removed for this. Buckets would be a pain, you would have to be constantly on hand to prevent any flooding.
- Q: How to remove the column basin
- Washbasin is generally fixed with the expansion bolts on the wall, you can use the wrench unscrew the back of the wash basin to remove the screws; the following pillars are only placed on the ground and a little fixed with white cement, remove the wash basin can be taken directly The hot and cold water pipe connected to the washbasin can be unscrewed with pliers.
- Q: Bathroom basin water pipe wall outlet and the water that is good
- It is certainly a good water, wall water a long time there will be hidden inside the hair is easy to block and bad dredge, the water is not good to engage in health, wall water is only a little beautiful, that is not good is the face of the project is not practical, And the disadvantages are, fish and bear's paw can not have both
