- Q: I've got a badly clogged bathroom sink. I took out the draiin cover and I can see where the water is just standing/ draining extremely slowly. I can't reach the clog, but I was able to get a wire coat hanger into it and pull out a small bit of hair (not sure how hair even got into the sink!) but it didn't do anything to speed the draning. There could be a small bit of gravel in the drain from a few months ago as well as some bits of paper (all on accident, I'd never put anything down there!). I already tried some baking soda and vinegar but it didnt help, the vinegar just made the water level raise. The water is maybe 6 or 7 inches from the drain (not in the sink, in the pipe). What should I do? Thanks for your help :)
- get some lye (NaOH) from the diy store. preferrably pallets. let it sink (no pun intended) to the bottom (best with boiling water but if its already full it cant). and let it sit out for a day. if that doesnt work a plumber should come

- In order to be able lift the faucet from the sink, you'll have to squirm underneath the sink and remove two or more attachment clips as well as the hot and cold water supply connections. However, that shouldn't be necessary in order to replace any seals. Shut off the water supplies underneath, remove the faucet handles, the plastic water mixers, and the rubber seals. Using a repair kit from Lowe's or a plumbing supply store, replace all of the seals. Reassemble, reconnect water supplies, and you should be leak free.

- Actually, considering that most people get ready for the day in front of bathroom mirrors over a sink, no. You will find that after time your drain is not draining as well. - Well either your trap needs replacing or the fitting it is threaded into in the wall needs to be replaced. I have done this and you might have a LITTLE difficulty if you need to replace the fitting that goes into the wall. If you cannot unscrew it with a PIPE WRENCH or similar tool then try heating up the fitting with a propane torch. Be careful not to start a FIRE to any SURROUNDING areas. Just go to a Lowes or Home depot or better yet a well stocked Plumbing supply house for replacement parts. Piece of cake/it just takes a little time and patience. Buy some quality teflon paste for the threads before threading them together.

- If the sink or tub faucet has the threaded spout you sure can! years ago when I lived in an apartment I did!Just attach a Y fitting to the spout and connect both washer hoses to that. And you can drain it into the bathtub too. Just remember the drain hose must be in an upright position. attach it with some plumbing strap to the back of the machine, then I took a garden hose and connected it to the drain hose ( i bought one of those brass fittings used to replace the end of the garden hose and a clamp, i don't know what the name of the clamp is but it's like a smaller version of the clamp that holds the vent pipe onto the back of the dryer, then I slid the non threaded end of the brass fitting into the washer drain hose and tightened the clamp around the washer drain hose and the brass fitting and screwed the garden hose onto that and let the machine drain into the bath tub. just make sure you have a lint trap over your bat tub drain hole. Now I live in my own house and have regular w/d hookups buti stiil use the garden hose to drain the machine. I run my garden hose outside to water the trees! Here in Texas you just don't waste water!
