Q:Well I was cleaning my floor because we were about to install new tile flooring and when I went outside to get a load of tile my girlfriend flushed the bucket of water down the toliet without checking if a rag was in it and by the time I got back the toliet backed up and she shut both the toliet and bathroonm sink valves off, well the toliet I fixed and got the rag. But the sink, once I turned the valves on the water barely trickled out.....Whats the problem and how do I fix it??
Assumming you are talking about the water cutoff valve under the sink. Either the valve isn't working (it shut but won't come back on) or there is an obstruction. Sometimes the stem washer will dislodge and be come the obstruction. If the valve in question is screwed on (not soldered) I'd just replace the valve. I'm sure you know to cut the water off outside and drain as much water as you can and be prepared to catch more water when you loosen stuff. Or, your can take the valve apart and check for obstruction and proper functionality. Either way I wish you luck.
Q:The old faucet on my bathroom sink is a single handled one. Can I change it to a double handled one?
Yes. As long as there are two holes in the sink. When you take off the old faucet there should be two holes under the cover plate. Just hook up your hot and cold water to those.
Q:Toilet pots are white with what color silicone is good
Toilet basin are white with white color silica gel is good, more uniform
Q:Am at wits end. Probably have to call a professional. The rubber seal on this Delta faucet is almost non-existent and somewhat leaking but not profusely Someone had suggested unscrewing the 2 faucets, did that, but then what next? The faucet itself is intact to the sink. Why did someone think it would lift out? It does not.The only way to get to it is from underneath and it is very tight space, the vanity is very small. The sink is in the way so I can't even see the underneath of the faucet itself from inside the cabinet, it is way back and like I said, the space is very very small. Looks like the sink probably has to be removed first? Such a pain for such a small job.Thank you.
In order to be able lift the faucet from the sink, you'll have to squirm underneath the sink and remove two or more attachment clips as well as the hot and cold water supply connections. However, that shouldn't be necessary in order to replace any seals. Shut off the water supplies underneath, remove the faucet handles, the plastic water mixers, and the rubber seals. Using a repair kit from Lowe's or a plumbing supply store, replace all of the seals. Reassemble, reconnect water supplies, and you should be leak free.
Q:We just bought a mobile home and upon moving in we noticed that there is a burn on the bathroom sink, we did a tour of the place a few weeks ago the previous tenants were still living there so it had to of happened in the last couple of weeks it looks as if they left a straightener or curling iron on it and it burnt the sink to the point of the plastic melting and now it looks awful! I really don't want to replace the whole sink but I'm afraid that may be the only way to deal with it, it wouldn't be such a big deal if it was in our master bedroom but this is in the secondary bathroom where visitors will be going to the bathroom, anyone know of any kind of filler we can use to fill in those holes and dips so it won't look so bad, then maybe I can paint it and you will barely be able to notice?????
There is no way to fix such damage. Replace the sink. In future ALWAYS put a condition in the written Offer To Purchase that allows a 'last minute' inspection (after occupants are out - the day before the deal closes). Real Estate Agents HATE that kind of conditional offer and will move heave and earth to get you to drop it. Sellers hate it too. Stick to your guns and insist upon it. If you'd had that condition in your offer for this purchase, you'd have discovered that burn and been able to cancel the deal if you wanted to do so. You'll also be in a position to demand that the sink be replaced immediately ( DO NOT accept a 'promise to do so' later. ) or to demand a healthy discount on the price. I've had RE Agents tell me that they can't put a condition like that in the Offer To Purchase. That's pure BS. You can put any condition you darned well want into an offer. Obviously, if it's a ridiculous condition, your Offer will be rejected, but a final inspection is perfectly reasonable if the place is occupied when you first inspect it.
Q:Both my bathtub and bathroom sink are clogged! They are not just a little clogged, the tub takes a long time to drain, and nothing goes down, and the bathroom sink just doesn't drain at all.I have tried Drain-OAny ideas of what to do next?
The stoppage is at the junction of the sink and tub connection point. Drain-0 only works in the p-trap. Home Depot sells a liquid drain cleaner in a 1 qt black bottle that's packed into a plastic bag. It's a very strong acid. I believe it is hydrochloric acid. Follow directions and pour the recommended quantity down the sink drain. It will work it's way down the the stoppage. Let it sit for about 1 hr. I've used it twice with success. I'm saying the sink drain because the stoppage appears to be at the junction of the sink and tub drain with the major stoppage on the sink side.
Q:I live in the first floor of a two floor apartment. When someone in up-stair uses the kitchen sink, the dirty water flows back to my kitchen sink. It stays in the sink for couple of minutes then goes away. Sometimes the odorous water overflows and makes my kitchen floor very smelly. The super of out apartments seems to be struggling to find out why it is happening. He changed the pipe. cleaned it, etc. nothing seems to be working. DOes anyone know the cause. Please help! It snowed yesterday, and I do not have if that has anything to do with the situation.
you both share a common drain line and some body is putting grease down the drain and its choking the pipe, drain cleaner and a sink plunger might clear it if not then a small drum auger will help. then followed by lots of hot water, and tell your upstairs neighbor to refrain from using their sink until you finish clearing the drain, for best results bail out the water and have hot water ready to put in . people take for granted that all goes down ok but after time it builds up to the point of blockage that pipe is cold and it clings and just builds up to where a pea can block it. good luck and just changing a piece of pipe don't get the blockage I have a 35 foot drum snake and some times I barely make it to the clog it (the kitchen drain line) runs all the way to the main sewer line .
Q:The foam in the washing machine comes out of the basin
You said the semi-automatic washing machine is not a double barrel washing machine? If you are a double-barrel washing machine, of course, do not wash your clothes in the basin, you can put the clothes in the washing bucket, add water into the rinse after 5 minutes, drain, and then get the clothes dehydration dehydration, repeat twice Yes.
Q:Bathroom washbasin faucet what practical?
Wash basin faucet and basin basin composition relationship, its better design is the outlet outwards tilt. This will not only let the water column rushed to the hands, not the space. Wash basin basin faucet often have a problem: when the water pressure is too large, a water faucet, the water column suddenly rushed out, water splashing. Pay attention to a little wash basin faucet are equipped with slow water exports. In this way, the feeling of washing hands under soft water is really great.
Q:I just remodeled my bathroom and the contracted crew installed a receptacle about 2 inches above my sink is that against code? From what I understand a receptacle has to be at least 18" from any water source. Can I keep the receptacle there or do I have to move it? The receptacle is GFCI and Im talking about Virginia, United States.
