Q:how do you install bathroom sink faucets?
1. make sure you have at least 2 wrenches or 2 pair of pliers or something to loosen and tighten the lines. 2. Turn off the water valves under the sink. If you do not have valves under the sink you will have to turn the entire house off. If the latter is the case, make sure you buy some valves to put under the sink before you turn the water back on. It would suck to be without water if something goes wrong and you do not have valves to make sure your bathroom doesn't flood. 3. Turn the faucet on and make sure all the water is drained--if it continues to drip then try playing with the valves some more--but realize that they are not indestructable and could break if you put too much umf into em. 4. Unhook the water lines from the old faucet using two wrenches usually. If your old water lines are not in good shape, it is the perfect time to get new and have one less thing that can go wrong. 5. If you are not sure, write on the wall or the back side of the cabinet which is hot or cold so you don't hook em- up wrong on the new one. 6. Loosen the nuts (usually plastic unless really old) on the bottom side of the faucet itself. The faucet will pull out through the top once these have been removed. 7. Clean up any remaining residue from the old faucet. 8. Follow directions that come with the new faucet. Should take between 15 minutes and 1? hours--depending on how hard it is to get to and how long and old the existing faucet is. If you get in a bind--then you can call someone to come do it for you--but there is no science to replacing a faucet. Have fun-I hate plumbing--unless everything works right.
Q:My husband recently fixed a leak in the bathroom tub (sealed something) and obviously had to turn the water off while working on this. Since then the hot water in the bathroom sink does not work when we turn the faucet on (the cold water faucet does work and come out fine). Also not the kitchen sink has a delay when turning it off (water comes out about 5 seconds after turning off) Any ideas why this may be occurring?
Then it really is blocked by some ability except you attempt to run all rapidly. attempt turning on in effortless words the bathtub. If it doesnt run risk is you've an air lock. you are able to in certain circumstances liberate air locks making use of the mains stress. you want to run a hose from a mains tap to the bathtub tap and preserve both ends by some ability. i have finished or not it really is merely preserving it tightly against the tap by ability of hand. some water escapes inspite of the undeniable fact that it remains regularly adequate to blow air back up into the chilly tank. inspite of the undeniable fact that dont attempt this once you've a sealed kin water equipment.
Q:What is the difference between the kitchen and the basin
The kitchen pots and basins are actually made of pots in the position of the sink.
Q:I checked for a valve under the sink to see if it possibly wasn't open all the way but i did not see any valves. The cold water pressure is fine in the bathroom sink but hot water has been horrible since I moved in 7 months ago. Kitchen, and bathtub hot water pressure is just fine. The sink appeared to be newer if not brand new when I moved in. I live in the city, if that helps to know that I have city water and not well water. Please advise..I would love to be able to wash my hands with higher warm water pressureThanks in advance
it's possible that the hot water has swollen the diaphragm in the hot water faucet and is restricting the flow. since you don't seem to have shut off valves you'll probably need to shut off the water to the whole house or at least at the hot water heater, if you have separate faucets. if you can find a brand name on your faucet you should be able to get a replacement cartridge for it before you start. or you can take the old one out and bring it with you, but also bring the brand name. if you have it repaired by a plumber, consider having him install shutoffs under the sink for the future. also, check the water temp setting on the water heater to see if it is set too high. so that the new cartridge will last, it should be set for 120 degrees. hope this helps, and good luck.
Q:We just bought a mobile home and upon moving in we noticed that there is a burn on the bathroom sink, we did a tour of the place a few weeks ago the previous tenants were still living there so it had to of happened in the last couple of weeks it looks as if they left a straightener or curling iron on it and it burnt the sink to the point of the plastic melting and now it looks awful! I really don't want to replace the whole sink but I'm afraid that may be the only way to deal with it, it wouldn't be such a big deal if it was in our master bedroom but this is in the secondary bathroom where visitors will be going to the bathroom, anyone know of any kind of filler we can use to fill in those holes and dips so it won't look so bad, then maybe I can paint it and you will barely be able to notice?????
There is no way to fix such damage. Replace the sink. In future ALWAYS put a condition in the written Offer To Purchase that allows a 'last minute' inspection (after occupants are out - the day before the deal closes). Real Estate Agents HATE that kind of conditional offer and will move heave and earth to get you to drop it. Sellers hate it too. Stick to your guns and insist upon it. If you'd had that condition in your offer for this purchase, you'd have discovered that burn and been able to cancel the deal if you wanted to do so. You'll also be in a position to demand that the sink be replaced immediately ( DO NOT accept a 'promise to do so' later. ) or to demand a healthy discount on the price. I've had RE Agents tell me that they can't put a condition like that in the Offer To Purchase. That's pure BS. You can put any condition you darned well want into an offer. Obviously, if it's a ridiculous condition, your Offer will be rejected, but a final inspection is perfectly reasonable if the place is occupied when you first inspect it.
Q:Tried cleaning all pieces. Made rope of plumbers putty, slipped it under flange and then tightened down. Looks like most of putty oozed out. water does not drip from under sink, it just runs into drain.
I have used teflon tape with success in sealing threads on home projects. I have also used clear, silicone adhesive, Goop with good results. Plumber's putty was originally designed for cast iron fittings and not brass or pvc pipe fittings. Teflon tape comes in different colors where each applies to a specific type hook-up; liquid and gas. So, check the label before purchasing.
Q:Upstairs on the basin under the water pipe plug on the illegal
Do not violate the law does not say, your home under the water pipe is cut off the downstill how do you do? Downstairs to the total water valve off the water supply upstairs, how do you do? Or that is not water, upstairs drink water can not eat that meal, can not wash the toilet, how do you do? I will be angry with a knife to stab downstairs, you dare you? Do not do this is illegal, are angry words. Neighborhood for the public part of the care of their services, mutual understanding, do not give others trouble, their own drainage tube in the downstairs to ensure that can not leak, find the problem in a timely manner, not because they can not see the wrong thing.
Q:So I live in an appartment, the upstairs of a house. Everytime I go to brush my teeth all I can smell is POO! I know this is disgusting and I don't know what to do about it???
If you live in the UK then bathrooms usually have water supplied by a tank hot from the tank in your airing cupboard which is mains fed, cold is usually supplied by a tank some times in the loft which can become contaminated although this is mains fed there is a loose lid which could become dislodged I have heard of dead birds in cold water tanks. Worst case scenario is that your tank has been contaminated on purpose. Speak to your management company or health department and explain the problem, in the meantime use bottled water to brush your teeth and ask other residents if they have a similar problem
Q:kitchen sinkbathroom sink or shower? :)
bathroom sink sometimes bath tub
Q:So my bathroom sink is really clogged. There's a small pool of water in my sink that won't drain at all. I dumped boiling water down the overflow hole but that didn't do anything. I used a plunger on the hole in the sink which still didn't do anything. I've used a bent hanger w/ a hook on the end to get out stuff from it but there's nothing else getting stuck on the hanger. I don't have a snake or anything to use. Is there a way I can get the water to drain at least long enough to get drain-o. And even then, if the water doesn't drain in that time, will drain-o still get through the pipes when there's water in it. Please help me out here. Thank you so much. <3
1st try to take the trap off and see if it's clogged there. If not try plunging again while holding a wet rag tightly over the overflow hole. If you don't cover the overflow while plunging, the plunger's pressure is release there rather than the pipes. It also may help to put a little water in the sink while plunging to help make a better plunger seal to the sink. One more thing, cheap plungers aren't worth buying, use a good flexible one. One more last note, personally I dislike using chemicals because if they don't work (which they often don't), you'll have those caustic chemicals in your trap if have to take it off, be sure to use rubber gloves. If none of that works, get a cheap snake from Home Depot, Lowes, etc., take the trap off (get new trap washers if need be) and snake through the pipe in the wall where the trap goes in.
