Q:new switch and new tank: Sounds like the thermal is cycling. Check it and clean out debris. (overheating)

Q:it is a mazda b3000 pick up v6,it is coming from behind water pump,but it is not all the time, i would think that if pump is going it would be all the time, but it will go bone dry for a few dayswhen it does leak it leaves about an 8 inch spot on the driveway,temp gauge goes to its regular spot and does not move,any suggestions would be helpful,thanks: water pump gasket or water pump

Q:Well I know the water pump is leaking and its leaking fast. So I put water in the coolant reservoir and when I drive it acts fine but then when I stop and idle the coolant tank starts too over flow and spits the water out everywhere. Car still being at reg temperature the coolant reservoir is steaming/smoking? I can't tell which. But there doesn't seem to be water in the oil??? What's going on? If the water pump is replaced will this stop?: If you are loosing water due to a leak coming from your water pump the radiator can not hold pressure making the water over heat that is where the steam is coming from and as far as how long it will take you to replace the water pump time will tell if this is your first time it may take you 8 hours but like they say it is better to have tried than to have not tried at all.

Q:A mechanic replaced my timing and other belts on my 2001 Mitsubishi Galant 4 cylinder today but not water pump. He said the water pump looked good. All the other mechanics I talked to told me they had to replace the water pump. This mechanic said the belts were not connected to the water pump in this car and therefore the water pump was ok. The car has about 100500 miles on it. Is this bad or should I call him back and ask him why he didn't change the water pump. I don't want to pay more later.: the reason why we tell people too replace the pump is because all the parts in the way are already off when you change the timing belt so its just a case of good measure and preventative maintenance not too mention it makes a little more money

Q:I have oil all over my water pump. I investigated when I saw a few drops of oil in the garage that showed up every few days. I then saw a drop of clean radiator fluid. Does oil come near or through the water pump? I have a 96 nissan maxima if that helps.: The first place a car will leak oil is usually the valve covers. Regular maintenance requires valve adjustments, and to do this, the valve covers come off a few times in 10 years. If you have a four syllable motor, the front of the valve cover is right above the water pump, so a valve cover leak would dribble down the water pump. Your water pump could be leaking (if you've never replaced it in the 10 years since your car was made). I'd bet you have both problems. I'm too soon old, and too late smart, so I've let water pumps go because it's only leaking a little. When the shaft begins to get wobbly, it will let loose with a caBANG! and damage something when it flings off the fan. Moral to the story: Replace the water pump, and get a new gasket for the valve covers.

Q:Im considering installing an electric water pump in my car and i dont know much about electric water pumps yet so if you could tolerate a couple of dumb questions....? are electric water pumps reliable enough to be put into a daily driver (i just used the meziere name as an example, its the only name i am familiar with in electric water pumps)? i realise what the engine is basically done if the water pump goes.... could a change this small ever show up on either mpg or hp readings for a 200hp v6? finally, if the electric water pump just isnt worth the reliability risk, would a water pump underdrive pully do (almost) the same job of freeing work from the engine without putting the motor in harms way? thanks!: I personally would not use an electric water pump on a street car. But ive seen them last pretty long on some cars. You can underdrive the pump but Im pretty sure the HP benefit of the electric pump is better. Meziere makes good quality electric pumps. If your going to go electric, go with Meziere.

Q:I've been hearing a noise from my truck that sounds like a fan blade is rubbing against something metal but I could never figure out what it was and my truck seemed to be running fine. I recently replaced my radiator and now my truck is overheating. Was that noise my water pump going bad and now it's shot?: wiggle the fan blades and if they move any it is a bad water pump, they will also leak a little bit under the main shaft of the water pump housing, there is a hole on the bottom and top just for this reason, the metal squealing is the impeller in the water pump, it wont last long now

Attach an input hose to the air inlet, and an output hose to the pressurized air output for the tire. A good way to develop plans on how to make it would be to visit your local sporting shop or auto parts shop and look over their pumps. .
