- If it is manual, you can ask professional manufacturers to wash, don't go to the laundry shop.

- use this stuff called AWESOME. you can get it at some 99 cent stores or any other store. its very cheap but i use it for EVERYTHING!! i swear by it. it really works, even though it says to dilute don'tt, just pour it straight on, let it sit and clean in a bit. GOOD LUCK

- no, it will be damaged because of a long time friction. there is professional engineering carpet.
- Q:The ones with the rubber underneath. It doesn't say on the tag. Can you wash them in the washer and dryer? Or will it melt in the dryer?
- you can do them in the washer and dryer but the rubber backing will fall apart after a few washes. dry it on a cool setting and then hang over the side of the tub or kitchen chair or porch rail to finish drying.
- Q:I have a shag rug in my room. It's right infront of my mirror where I brush my hair, so now there is always hair caught in the shags of the rug. Also, dog hair gets caught in it from my dog. Vacumming doesn't get the hair out.How do you clean a shag rug? I need to get the hair out of it!Help!
- I suggest...brushing it/raking it. Sounds weird but back in the 70's when shag rug was in, raking was introduced to the carpets. If you rake it, it combs the direction of the carpet, but also pulls materials in from deep within the carpet. If this doesn't work...try a lint brush with teeth. Not a roller that picks up sticky stuff.

- Q:carpet seems to be deteriorating and flying in air..manufacturerer says it is not from their carpet. By using wet sponge, I collect specimens from around edges of carpet that are the color of the carpet and look like wet cardboard.
- Good heavens, that's strange. Did you buy this carpet yourself, or was it already there? Do you know what the material is? I have lived in five houses with wall-to-wall carpeting and have never, ever seen that. If you can't find out what the material is on the phone, then take a piece of it to Home Depot or a specialty carpeting store or someplace like that and get some help. If you have major problems with this, I would call your local television news station and get them interested in a faulty product story. This might pressure the carpeting manufacturer to pay some attention to your issue. One final note though: whoever owned the carpet before you might have applied some kind of product to the carpet which is causing its detioration. Good luck.
- Q:good loom for rugs and placemats?
- I didn't go to your links, but Schacht looms are some of the best made. I would really like to have a 2- harness Schacht to make rugs with! I have a 4-harness LeClerc and it is heavy enough to do what I want all the way from rugs to fine fabrics. I suggest you get some of those link together mats to put under your loom to prevent walking and to dampen the banging we get when making rugs!! Dust vacs work well to get up the lint we make. Enjoy your new loom as much as I enjoy my antique LeClerc! (it has a 4 digit serial number!)

- Carpet will not provide a food source for mold unless it is contaminated with organic type spills, including food, feces, vomit, possibly urine, and blood. Mold grows when high humidity is present, normally on wood or paper, which would be the food source. You do not mention what type of spills took place on your carpet, or if you have pets. Homes with pets are among the dirtiest homes on the planet. Urine stains that penetrated the carpet, carpet pad, and made it to the wood floor, will harbor bacteria living in the alkaline urine salts. They become active during high humidity conditions and produce ammonia type odors. Unfortunatly, people attempt to spot spills and stains from their carpet with out regard to proper cleaning procedures, they leave the cleaning solution and the spill in the carpet, wipe with a towel, when the solution and spill shoiuld have been rinsed/extracted from the carpet fibers. Every pro does the rinse/extraction process or they would be out of business. My suggestion, replace your carpet, carpet pad. seal the floor where it is contaminated with whatever and start over with new carpet. Have your new carpet professionally cleaned yearly with the hot water extraction process. Carpeting is a big investment, take care of it in the future.
- Q:I used to have a cat, but haven't since I bought a house and completely remodeled it. Now the house is done, and I'd like to get a cat again. I don't like the idea of de-clawing - I think it's cruel. But, I now have expensive furniture in the house and also 2 very expensive antique persian rugs. How is a clawed cat trained not to scratch/claw these things. I've always had problems in the past with this.
- Thats tough because its a natural behavior for cats. You can try Soft Paws. Its a product which you glue over the nails. You can do it yourself and it won't shred the furniture. Just make sure you don't trim the nails too short since the super glue needs something to hold on to. Yes super glue. Thats what we use at the vet clinic where I work at. They come in different colors as well.
