Q:Not the luxury ones, just like the ones that are on the kitchen floor with tassles.
rugs are made of Animal or plant fibers, including wool, cotton, sisal, jute, seagrass or bamboo. Man-made material such as viscose, rayon, nylon, acrylic or polypropylene/olefin can also be used.
Q:I know you say quot;six by six foot rugquot; or quot;six sq.foot rugquot; but which of the above is correct?
Since feet is plural of foot and you have more than one, I would guess that the latter is correct. But who knows for sure the way we use English is screwed up.
Q:I've already tried carpet cleaner, nail polish remover, and bleach. Its black nail polish on a light beige carpet. Please help! Thanks.
keep trying NON ACETONE finger nail polish remover have you tried hydrogen peroxide?
Q:I have just gotten a large area rug and Ihave put it on a bare floor. Do I need to put something under the rug. It is not slipping or anythhing.
For extra comform you must first place a cushion foam on the bare floor and on top of this pout your rug. It's prolong the life of a rug as well as add much comfort. It doesnot matter slipping or anything..It does matter!
Q:Ok so i want to get new carpet in my basement and on the Home Depot website it says that youcan get any size carpet for only $139, but idk if this includes taking the old carpet out. If not, then how would i do that, and/or how much will it cost???
The ad is to install the carpet, not purchase. You'd have to ask Home Depot if the install also includes removal and haul away. It may not for a special deal. Removal can be fairly easy if the carpet was not glued to the floor. The easy way is to peel back a corner. Tack strips are thin slat with grippers nailed to the floor that have spikes on the top to grip the carpet. Once you get it off once section, the carpet is easily taken up. However, get a carpet knife and cut them into sections for easier handling. Often the carpet is NOT under the baseboard, but right at the bottom. Letting a putty knife or screw driver under there will probably loosen it. Remove the carpet and the pad.......pads are cheap and you want a fresh clean start. If the carpet is glued down.......well, you'll need a heavy duty flat scraper and start scraping. You'll also need a carpet glue solvent and plenty of open windows...at least. You may need breathing protection, getting the birds out of the house, etc.
Q:I'm looking to hang about door size carpet pieces on my closet walls [don't ask why] and was wondering a good adhesive to use or if I should just use nails?
Or, use a 'rod' (i.e. 'dowel rods') through the top of the 'turned over' top piece of the carpet and hang it up with ribbon or cord attached to the rod and then drill your wall and put a screw or two in and hang the ribbon off that! You could use ribbon or cord to match the colour of your room? Hope this helps:)
Q:I've had this area rug/carpet for a few years. It still looks great, but it has fold marks, and I always have to pull it to even it out, I believe it is caused by the coffee table. Is there a way to undo this?
What the problem is, is that either the backing on the rug is bent or the rug is made of very strong durable material. Either way, using a little hand held steamer will do the trick. It might take a little while, but it does work. Be sure to protect whatever is behind it, no matter what process you decide to use! If it is small enough, you can take it outside and pour very hot water on the folds. However, hot water shrinks the material. So, you will need to have it pulled tight and secured. Using an iron with a wet cloth atop it is a good idea, too. Give that a go first. If it doesn't work, go with the steamer. Good Luck!
Q:good loom for rugs and placemats?
I have used many different kinds, and I don't think it matters that much. It depends if it was made for rugs or not. They may not work on placemats that well. They are very different! I think it really depends a lot on the weaver, and not the weaver's tools.
Q:Difference between synthetic fiber and blended carpet
Artificial fiber refers to some acrylic fibernylon blended, wool adds a certain proportion of nylon or acrylic fiber blanket original enhanced corrosion resistance chemical fiber material
Q:I have a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the dead battery in the back of my car spilled and ate some nice size holes in the carpet. I was wondering if anyone knew the approximate cost of new carpet from the dealership, and how hard it would be for someone to install the carpet themselves?
You can ck by going to JC Whitney online. Free catalog and they will even answer a ? by e-mail. The carpet will come molded to the shape of your cargo area so by taking off the plastic molding, marking them or laying them out on the driveway in the order taken out is not a very hard task. I have taken out and replaced headliners the same way but I would much rather do a cargo area. You'll do fine!
