I have a Hoover Elite Rewind U5507-900 vacuum that needs a new belt. I mean the belt snapped off, so I know that's the problem but I cannot find what belt size I need! This is a vacuum that was handed down to me, so I never had the owners manual and when I did find one online, it doesn't tell you the belt size you need;
Glad to help Daisy. If you look on the back of the vacuum there should be a sticker with the Model, Serial, and _replacement Belt numbers. If not, when you go to the Grocery Store or most any Department Store that sells Vacuum Cleaners will sell Belts too! The package should say: fits Hoover Elite and several other Models, If you have the old belt you can compare them. Also Daisy when you replace the Belt, check to see if anything caused the Belt to break other than just wear. Most often something gets wrapped around the Beater Bar, (Carpet Fiber/String/Thread/Etc.)something that stops the Bar, causing it to burn up the Belt! Good Luck!
A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner. quot;Good morning,said the young man. quot;If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners.quot;quot;Go away!said the old lady. quot;I haven't got any money!quot;, quot;I'mbroke!and she proceeded to close the door. Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the doorand pushed it wide open. quot;Don't be too hasty!he said. quot;Not until you have at least seen my demonstration.And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure on to her hallway carpet. quot;If this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder. The old lady stepped back and said, quot;Well I hope you've got adamned good appetite, because they cut off my electricity thismorning.What part of broke do you not understand?
haha unlucky chucky
i need something cheap too
With allergies, buy any one in your price range as long as it has a hepa filter. They filter finer particles than a regular filtered vac. For a reasonably priced name for a starter vac, check the Dirt Devil brands

On a riding lawn mower, so you can see obstructions if you are cutting under a shady tree, or bush. Commercial lawn maintenance people cut grass before the sun comes up at five in the morning for federal buildings. The light on the vacuum cleaner is handy yet again for seeing when vacuuming under a desk or table where the lighting is dim.
Have any of you had a newer Kirby vacuum cleaner (the one the representatives say cleans all the way to the bare floor) and could you compare it's performance to other quot;storebrands? I'm not really interested in value (I know they are terribly expensive) but want to know if they really do clean as advertised. I moved into a new house with some dirty carpets and a friend of mine offered to let me borrow her Kirby vacuum cleaner with built in carpet shampooer and I want to know how well it will clean. Is the shampooer equal to one I could rent at Wal-Mart or another store? Thanks for the help!
No they are not worth it. My wife bought one from a friend who became a saleswoman. It doesn't pick up dirt that well. It is a major nuisance to change over from vacuum to rug shampooer. It has a tendency to spill the cleaning liquid (dirty water that it sucked out of the carpet) so that most of the rug is OK but there are some really dirty parts where the liquid slopped out. If you switch from one mode to the other and don't get it together perfectly it will not turn on at all. My wife claims she doesn't know how to run anything that complicated. I stick to my ShopVac if I need to vacuum something. We have no dogs so hair removal is not an issue for us. Short answer is don't bother. Get a regular vacuum and rent a rug cleaner when you need one.
What kind of vacuum cleaners get around baseboards the best? Mine does ok with the floors but the edge cleaner is bad.
NO upright vacuum cleaner on the market will do a really terriffic job of cleaning the edges of carpet or flooring close to walls, furniture, etc. I've been repairing these things, all makes and models for over 35 years, and I can tell you with certainty that edge cleaning is nothing more than hype, by the vac companies. The best method to get the dirt and dust around the edges of your carpets is a hose attachment and a crevice tool or dust brush. Buying a high amperage vac is doing nothing more than spending more money for more electricity to run the vac motor. There are several vac's available that make tremendous vacuum with 6 - 8 amps, while there are many vac's advertising 12 - 14 amp motors that make less vacuum with less air flow. As for the Dyson, that's a real rip. The ads talk about not losing vacuum because they don't have filters to clog. I'm curious then, as to why my parts distributor lists 12 different filters for Dyson's. ???
Can anyone/everyone help me in knowing what to buy as far as vacuum cleaners go?? I am in desperate need to replace the piece of crap that I currently have and are having a heck of a time doing it, for there are oh I don't know millions of them!!! I have a cat, 2 adults 3 kids so I definitely live in a High Traffic Household. Also I need one that comes with a hose (not just the floor sucking kind) and lots of attachments cause I like to go against the wall where the kids get dirt in the corners and the cat gets cat litter. I need as much feedback as I can get as to what I can buy. I would LOVE a Dyson, but I don't have a $1000.00 to spend and more like $200.00 (or less). PLEASE HELP!!!
I went onto customer comments and did a sprint prognosis. I certainly have pets so i replace into incredibly searching for something that would get each and all the puppy hair up, fee replace into no longer a factor for me. decrease than their suggestion of customer superb purchase, i offered a Eureka at Walmart no much less for around $one hundred twenty.00, and that i like it!! it incredibly is a 12 amp with a sealed hepa filter out, and each and all the attachments. I certainly have wood flooring and carpet and it does a great activity on the two. It has a change to transform to regardless of floor you're vacuuming on the time, and an adjustment for the peak of carpet. good success.
