- Q: Why are cats generally terrified of Vacuum Cleaners?

- Q: I am planning to get a now dog. Preferably a small breed, and it will be indoors allot. My house is really big. MY question is , will it be a problem if my house is almost always messy? there is allot of trash lyeing around all over the place, bits of paper,cloths hangers, cloths, other trash, toys. Will this is a big deal. I assume it would, but exactly how clean should I be for the new dog ? What kind of stuff is a absolute must to avoid having lying around in the dog's reach ?
- Puppies are like little vacuum cleaners, in their minds everything is edible until proven otherwise. It will be very dangerous to a puppy if there are all kinds of random objects lying around. It's difficult enough to train a puppy not to chew on stuff that's not his, let alone do it when he's surrounded by what looks like Toys 'r Us to him! I'd definitely recommend that you get a crate, so that the pup (and your stuff) is safe when you're not supervising him. Also, clean up at least one room, so that there's nothing lying around that he can swallow. Use a baby stair gate or something similar to block off the doorway, that way he has some more space, but is still safe. If your yard also contains a lot of 'stuff', make sure you protect him by supervising him there too. The website below is specifically for new puppy owners, you will probably find it helpful. - Q: I have 4 cats and my vacuum recently broke. It wasn't all that good with picking up cat hair anyways. Can you suggest good vacuum cleaners for cat hair under $200? The attachments aren't a big deal to me and probably would be more of a hassle. Looking for something with easy disposable and strong suction. Thanks

Hoover Tempo for about 65, Eureka Smartvac (you could get the airspeed bagged, but the smartvac has some nicer features) for about 120 or you could get a eureka 1934b for about $100 which will outperform both the tempo and smartvac on carpet but does not have onboard tools We've had two cats for years we have been using a Kirby which has held up for years and years but new ones are way over 200 i know you can sometimes get reconditioned models for under 200

- Odds are you won't be selling to hotels/motels hotel maids want something light vacuums some of the more common ones are either the Oreck or Windsor Versamatic the Kirby while an excellent vacuum costs more than an oreck it would be kind of cumbersome for a maids cart. Cleaning companies sometimes use older models due to cost i would stick with residential customers
- Q: i am wanting a cleaner that does it all. i remember a rainbow that i used of someone that was a vac that extracted water while vacuuming that i would like to have. however, i don't know what kind that it was?? does all rainbow vacs do that?? i was thinking about purchasing the h2o vac, then read alot of bad things about them. do you have one, what is your experience? it does'nt have to be a rainbow, but i want something that i can vac and run water at the same time. would like for it to cost less than a rainbow. does the green machine do that?also, if you have a hoover z-fold, how good/bad is it?

- Q: Has anyone purchased one of these outrageously expensive vacuum cleaners? We have a yellow lab that sheds like crazy. We have a horrible time with vacuum cleaners. We have had Dysons and just had one die on us. Does anyone have any feedback on these vacuums?
- we have a Miele Blue Moon. We also had a very hairy dog. But we bought it because of allergies. it picks up and keeps dust mite droppings which no other vacuum does. but you have to change the HEPA once a year for it to do that. The bags and hepa are rather costly but we have had it 9 years and it works great. The only other tip I'd give is keep the height setting one setting higher if you find it is overheating when you vacuum. we have shag carpet so it was overheating the powerhead set at 1. We love it and it definitely works better than the less expensive models.
