Q: Does anyone know how to reverse the air from a vacuum cleaner? In other words, instead of it sucking the air in, how do you get it to blow out?: I would only do this if you have an out take valve on the vacuum but if you have a new on then just read the instructions or phone the company and ask about this problem

Q: I had a dyson vacuum it was terrible! it was heavy as hell and made of all cheap chinese plastic. I see oreck has some cheaper and more modern looking vacuums these days. Any serious opinions?: My Dyson vacuum cleaner was absolutely the best vacuum cleaner I have ever owned! I had two cats, one of whom was a long-haired Maine Coon and I killed several vacuum cleaners trying to keep my house clean. The last one prior to the Dyson was a Kenmore that was in the shop every month due to clogging. It was always under warranty so it didn't cost me anything to get it fixed, but it kept breaking. One day, I was so fed up with the whole thing that I spent the money on a Dyson and never regretted it. When I moved overseas, I kept very few items . . . I kept the Dyson. It's in a storage unit, waiting to be used again. Sure, it's ugly, but it does the job like no other. Good luck on your search for a better one.

Q: Vacuum Cleaners...please tell me the BEST one out there?!?!?!?: I agree with the others the Dyson's for the money seem to work the best I have had mine for 2 years and I would go through a vacuum two times a year before, I love it, it works amazingly at keeping dog and cat hair up and I'm always amazed at how much dust I pull up. I use mine almost every day, 3 cats and a dog with white carpet yikes! but it works very well. Hope this helps

Q: I remember reading an interesting quote a while back about the advent of vacuum cleaners (which I think represented modern technology). It basically stated that before vacuum cleaners work was done by hand, and when vacuums were invented the work was done two times faster but because of the dust given off by the vacuum vacuuming had to be done twice as frequently as the manual way of cleaning. Does anyone know the quote in its entirety?: Nothing sucks like an Electrolux.

Q: What about the Kirby vacuum cleaners?: What about Kirby Vacuum Cleaners? I know they're are noisy, and grossly over priced. You can talk the salesman down to around $600.00. Check first to see if the salesperson is driving a cadillac Escalade. Also, the sales people prey on old people, and will not leave the home until the unit is sold.

Q: My bagless vacuum is about 1 year old. We change our HEPA filter and the round filter under the dirt trap, clean the washable sponge as instructed. Recently, all of a sudden the machine smells really bad like a dead body is inside the machine. Anyone with a solution?: I was going to say change the bag, but okay, that's not it. But a vacuum cleaner has other parts that can retain specks of stuff, and whatever is decaying can be there instead.

Q: I've had my Dirt Devil bagless for only a few years. It was running just fine before we moved to our new house. Our new house has berber carpet. I was shocked at how much dirt that this thing picked up. There are no bags, just a canister that you empty. It is pricey, but you will be impressed on how well it does.
