Q:Is Kirby Vacuum Cleaners a scam?

Yes because I had 3 days to cancel and the address to send cancellation was the wrong address. I never got a responds . So now I m paying a $2000.00 dollar loan. Wish I had got a Dyson .The Kirby vacuum is very heavy and using the attachments can be time consuming and difficult .

Q:I have a habit of asking weird questions, but I think it is interesting how different regions/areas of people have different ways of saying/naming things. For instance, where I'm from, we call vacuum cleaners 'sweepers' and apparently other people don't. And then there is the whole 'pop' and 'soda' difference (I stick with pop). Oh one last thing, would you call it making dinner or fixing dinner? Right, so this question is kind of vague-- but what phrases are odd to you when you visit a different area? I'm just exploring the language differences... so any discussion or anything would be interesting!

some are vernacular and others colloquialisms. In the Midwest you'd say making dinner. In the south or southwest, fixin' dinner. We called vacuum cleaners Hoovers since they were the most popular in the 1930's. Sweepers were usually made by Bissell, and were un-powered. Lunch was dinner, and dinner was supper in Oklahoma.

Q:I was conversing with a person in the vacuum industry and was informed that they were a bucket of s.h.i.t so don't be fooled by the marketing.

all i can say on this matter is that as a builder i am often at the tip ..they have a pile of old vacuum cleaners Dyson's make up more than half of them!

Old vac's like the BD Dustbuster (which I have) use Nickel Cadmium cells. Not sure about new models but NiCd's are cheaper than newer alternative NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride).

Ive had one... I love my dyson. Who wants to clean up gross water... and what happens when you spill it... because it will happen!

Q:I have tried duct tape, bounce sheets, rubber gloves, lint rollers and vacuum cleaners. The only thing that has worked is picking out the hairs one by one. We recently moved and the owners gave us a game chair and its like the pet hair is embedded into the cover. (Its just the cover.) I'm afraid to wash it in fear of the hair transferring to the washer and dryer (prior experience) and the clips on the cover may tear it up.

My ex-husband got ripped off by someone selling a vacuum cleaner door to door.... $1600 later I was stuck with a vacuum cleaner that sucked (or rather...didn't suck!).... that is also one of the reasons why he is an ex.... he got custody of the sucky non-sucking vacuum cleaner!!!! Get out very quickly... don't let yourself get caught up in this. You don't have a clue who is on the other side of the door and quite honestly, the customer whose door you knock on doesn't have a clue who you are. Door to Door sales is a thing of the past.... don't fall for this scam... If you feel obliged to follow through, however, I know where there is one sucky non-sucking vacuum cleaner that I am sure the owner would be willing to part with after all these years!!!!

Yes. Direction of movement has no effect on the suction.
