Q:Alright, we've lived in this apartment for a year and three months, and we're on our third vacuum cleaner. The first two were Eureka's, then we bought a cheap bissel this last time. I had been taking excellent care of my vacuums, right down to washing the dirt cups, filter and cleaning out the carpet brushes with every use. I couldn't figure out why we were going through them like we were, but everyone suggested that cat hair is clogging them and burning them up. The newest started acting up within two uses (and it's not a large apartment, and we have one cat who hardly sheds, and we clean on a regular basis. Anyways, I tore the stupid thing apart to find MOUNDS of cat hair clogged in it. There was at least enough to be the size of a softball in the hose. So, how the heck is this thing clogging so fast, and what can I do to prevent it? I can't be tearing the stupid thing apart after every use, I refuse to shave or get rid of the cat and I can't exactly just stop vacuuming. Help me please!
Vacuum more often so it isn't picking up so much hair at one time. Try using a clothes roller (the sticky kind) on the floor before you vacuum to remove some of the cat hair.
Q:I'm currently treating my cats for fleas and have been on a hoovering mission to try and tackle the problem in the house.99% of what I've read on the internet tells you that you MUST throw the bag away every time you hoover because fleas can escape! I can see how they may be able to survive the process of being sucked up and that eggs can still hatch, but can they really find their way out of the bag and down my long henry hose and back out into the outside world?I'm hoovering nearly every day and it seems ridiculous and expensive to replace what is actually a pretty empty bag.I'm putting a sock over the hose and securing with one of the attachments to be on the safe side but what does everybody think?
a eureka i just bought it and it works great but i have found the bagless ones tend to be more of a hassel than the ones with bags because they need to be cleaned out so frequently and have many filters in the and get clogged easily....i hope i helped... *suga-bear*
Q:my mom has a vacuum cleaner that is electrical and has a filter that our suppose to dump and well shes gone threw tons of vacuum cleaners and just gave up and is keeping this one well it gets clogged up and a lot of areas and her birthday is coming up and i would like to fix it for her so she doesn't have to put up with it any more what do i do?
First of all, unless your mother is very enthusiastic about her vacuuming, don't fix it for her birthday. Take her out to dinner, buy her a nice pair of slippers and her favorite perfume. Not a vacuum. All you can do is clean it out as much as you can. Look for larger objects that may have been sucked in and remove them. If it is clogged with a bunch of hair from someone or some pet, try and stop that hair from reaching the floor. Combing your pet on a regular basis and throwing away the hair not only helps your animal in the summer heat, but also keeps the hair off the floor. Good luck, and find a better gift for your mom than a working vacuum.
Q:The spots look like black ink spots. They seem to be powdery because now they are all over my carpet. Is there an effective way to clean my carpet? Can steam vacuums help? Will I have to call professional cleaners to clean them? Any kinda help is appreciated! Thanks
Sounds like the belt to your vacuum may be shot. Check that first. If it is powdery, just replace your belt, and re vacuum. If it is set in, you should call a professional in. You don't want to take a chance spreading the black throughout the carpet. Let the professionals be responsible.
Q:I have 6 cats and need a vacuum cleaner that the filter is not going to stop up every few minutes. I have gone through 3 bagless vacuum cleaners in the last few months but they have been vaccums from walmart like eureka and such. I can vacuum over a small piece of trash in the living room and the vacuum just pushes the trash around, lol. Help!
I just bought my second Kenmore. They are great, and suck much better than cheap vacuums. If you have the funds, a Dyson would probably be the way to go, but a Kenmore does a thorough job for less. I have 2 cats, so I get where you're coming from. When my husband first used my Kenmore (after his Bissell died), he was raving to everyone who would listen about how great it was, lol. He says he's a Kenmore man from now on! No more Walmart vacs for us!
Q:i have a canister vacuum cleaner that has been working on and off. When it works, it works well, but sometimes when you try to turn it on it won't. But then when you try again later, it works. And it hasn't worked when it wasn't even used shortly before so it can't be overheated. The vacuum is at least a decade old. I'm suspecting that the motor i nearing the end of its life..but my dad refuses acknowledge the possibility of that and citing that it just needs to be cleaned. I know when the vacuum needs to be cleaned considering that I'm like the only one who uses it!
Your vacuum needs replacement. Ten year old vacuum would not be worth repairing and more efficeint machines are available cheaply today. (Not everyone needs or can afford a Dyson.)
Q:such as vacuum cleaners, and a straw (when you suck it it becomes a vacuum)what are some examples of vacuums in your home?
turkey baster
Q:I think my little brother (almost 20 months old) has Zuigerphobia. I know I'm being stupid, but I'm just curious. Is there a high chance that my brother will grow up with Zuigerphobia or Ligyrophobia? Or will it pass over, like for most people? I don't want him to be in his 30's, hiding in fear of the world.
Lol he will probaly be fine. He is just a little kid who is probaly startled by the loud noises the vacuum makes. As he gets older he will learn it is nothing to be afraid of. In the mean time just vacuum when he is not home
Q:What did people do before vacuum cleaners?
swept, mopped, scrubbed on hands and knees. The standard for clean was different.
Q:The motor turns ok, and my husband couldn't find where the hose was clogged.. we just can't get any suction. It is a Dirt Devil. Upright. Approx 7-8 yrs old.
If the bag is full they will not suck dirt try enptying the bag
