- Q: I have just bought a vacuum cleaner, but am very disappointed with it as the suction is much weaker than my old one. Apparently, the suction power on this new vacuum cleaner is 260 AW.Should I get another one or do all vacuum cleaners have a weaker suction than the old ones. Please give me your advice on this.
- What vacuum cleaner did you purchase? 260 AW (air watts), if being measured from the base of the vacuum and not the hose is actually quite a bit of power. For example, the Dyson DC25 All Floors only produces 220 Air watts, and is considered to be one of the more powerful vacuums on the market today. Your problem is most likely either function of poor design, a clog in the machine, or you may have just gotten a lemon. Unless the problem is that it is clogged then you will want to return the vacuum and get a different one. Here is a good resource with some reviews on some of the top models (and some they recommend are less than $150, which is nice), and some details specs/explanations on how to understand suction power. Vacuum technology hasn't improved that much over the last several decades (with the exception of the cyclone technology from Dyson), but suction power hasn't necessarily decreased. It almost just seems like more vacuum manufacturers are making vacuums that are going to need to be replaced in 4-5 years, unlike the old days when they lasted for 20. Good luck, I hope this helps!
- Q: I need to purchase a new vacuum cleaner in the $125 - $175 price range. Does a bagless have as much sucking power? Do I have to replace filters on bagless vacs? Thanks
- The dust kicked up in Melville and Anna Bissell's crockery shop and inspired Melville Bissell's invention of the carpet sweeper. Originally developed to preserve Melville's health by sweeping away the dust, the Bissells soon recognized the sweeper's market potential. Women neighbors of the Bissells, working out of their homes in Grand Rapids, Michigan, put together the inner workings and cases of the sweeper.
- Q: need a new belt for my vacuum cleaner
- Any okorder /
- Q: I want to clean my carpet with one of those foam spray cleaners, but I have a bagless vacuum. I know they use to have a disclosure of quot;not for use with bagless vacuumsquot;. Is this still true?
- Yes, I think that is still true.
- Q: We have 2 vacuum cleaners. Both are bagless, only 7 months old and both have weird smell .whenever they are used, smell spreads throughout the house. They have hepa filters, even changed them but still no change. After investigating more, found that the smell is coming from the cyclonic assembly of the vacuum. The assembly is filled with fine dirt, as it cant be cleaned or washed out, there is nothing we can do. Is there a way to get rid of it without opening and cleaning the cyclonic assembly or bagged vacuum is the only way to go. Plz any suggestions? . This smell even bothers in breathing and flares up my asthma also.
- I have yet to see a vacuum cleaner that don't add a smell to the air. Try vacuuming up some backing soda this helps.
- Q: You can't vacuum if there's no power, so why would you need the light? You can't get into the corners of the carpet anyhow, so why taunt you by showing you the extra dust?
- It's to warn the dust bunnies so that they can hide under the couch. It's PETA thing.
- Q: My roommate is allergic to cats, and when I got my kitty I told her that if her allergies got too bad, I'd send him to live with my dad, but I do NOT want to do that and am trying to find a good vacuum for someone with allergies. I'm looking for something with a HEPA filter. Can be bagless or have bags. I'd really prefer an upright to a canister. Looking in the price range of $60-$200, but willing to hear suggestions for more expensive models. MUST HELP REDUCE ALLERGENS!!
- People okorder / okorder it has a six-layer filtering system (including the HEPA, germicidal UV, and active carbon filter) and odor, dust and allergen sensors which easily detect pet dander, dust mites, chemicals, pollen, mold spores and many more.
- Q: how many brands are there except Shark navigator?have u tried them? are they really easy?
- The okorder /... I believe that Hoover originated the lift off design a few years ago. I've not used this one, but I have seen it kicking around warehouse retailers when was first released. To be honest, I think that the lift off canister design is far more hype than actually useful - regardless of the brand name. The theory of a smaller, portable vacuum is good, no doubt, but having to carry/hold the vacuum in one hand while you operate it with the other kind of defeats the purpose.
- Q: I heard it spins around in there at 9 times the speed of sound, that being true how is it possible to see a recently sucked up ant able to crawl around pretty happily in the bit where you can see all the dust? Serious answers only please.
- Ants have exo skeletons. They can survive pretty much everything except for being stomped on. They would most likely get caught in the dust and not be thrown around inside the vacuum cleaner. And im pretty sure vacuum cleaners dont spin at 9 times the speed of sound...
- Q: Does dog hair ruin vacuum cleaners? And if so, what do you recommend for pet hair control?
- It doesn't ruin your vacuum, except for maybe over use. Make sure, after every time you use it that hair balls aren't stuck in the wand or in the brushes. If your vacuum is the bagless variety, clean out the canister after each use.. The Dyson brand vacuum is supposed to be one of the best but really expensive. You basically have to vacuum everyday. I've seen these like magnetic brooms demonstrated at dog shows that seem to really pick up the hair- sorry I don't know what they are officially called or where you get them. I hope someone has a better answer because with 3 dogs and a cat there's a lot of hair in my house...
