- Well as to not to damage the one underneath I would say sew the corners or use carpet tape, The only thing is the tacky residue from the tapes. Try laying the shelf liner stuff

- I have found some large rugs at Goodwill. In my state prices vary a lot, but the cheapest price can be gotten with a little haggling at Goodwill and my cost of this used bedroom rug cost me just $20. If Goodwill is not available where you live then try thrift stores or the Salvation Army Thrift Store for sales and or auctions. You could save lots.

- Couldn't you just get a normal doily pattern ( meant to be done with fine crochet cotton) and then just crochet it with thick rope and a humongous crochet hook. This would give you the same type of result.

- Carpet tiles over full carpet. The carpet in my childhood bedroom has silly putty stuck in it, marker stains, nailpolish stains, paint spills, you name it. Carpet tiles are good for young kids because you can REPLACE them. Accidents happen, kids are messy and getting someone to clean your carpet is expensive. This also gives you the option to change the flooring when your daughter gets older if she wants something different. Picking up carpet tiles is cheaper then hiring someone to take out old carpet and install new.

- I can't say that my son ate bits of lint from the floor. However, when he was about that age, he would stash snacks around like a squirrel. I'd give him a cracker, and he would run off and hide it. Later, he would go back and retrieve it with a big grin on his face. I never understood it, as he was always allowed to have a nutritious snack if he was hungry. But as gross as it was to have to look for old snacks hidden behind the couch, it used to crack me up.

- these little worms that you found are actually maggots they grow all over the place that is not cleaned all the time they will grow on something moist also and what you have to do is basically just clean up the area maybe with carpet cleaner because they might have laid eggs sum where and if that doesn't get rid of em then call the exterminator and tell him U got maggots
