- Q: We just moved into a condo about 3 weeks ago... and we have white carpet. I accidently dropped my ashtray onto the floor of my room, and its caused a HUGE black stain....in a very obvious place! I've tried alot of the carpet cleaners.... and its seeming to just make it worse....can someone help?!
- Take a normal mix of PROPER carpet cleaner (not washing up liquid, that contains glycerine and leaves a sticky film for more dirt to cling to!!!) add to your carpet cleaner mix 25% Ammonia, scrub by hand (open widows are good!!!) then rinse off with a wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

- Carpet: wool carpet definitly will lose the wool, good wool fiber is combined togrther, even import New Zealand wool also falls, so don't buy cheap household carpet, as the cheaper cost, the worse quality.

- I would not put a rug on him. Only put him out if the weather it nice and dry. Putting on a rug will only help the bacteria out. You should not need to use the louse powder on him either. As for a name how about Ozzy or redd, romper, ernie, pokey, charlie, or just to throw people off you could name him blue. LOL

- A rough estimate is approximately $1500.00. There are however many different brands of carpet. Whatever brand you choose, you'll want a good quality carpet padding. Also you did not state if you are going to need old carpet removed. If you do, this is an added cost. Are you installing the carpet yourself. Not recommended if you have not done this before. This is also an added cost if you'll need it installed. The best of luck to you! It's fun to redecorate, if only it weren't so darn expensive!!!

- Q: I just moved into a 1st floor/basement apartment. Its currently has tile floors wich are nice but are extremely cold to walk on in the winter. I was thinking about putting carpet down until I stumbled across carpet tiles in home depot. Since im renting I dont want to damage the current ceramic tile floor, should I lay down regular carpet or use carpet tiles? I don't care about grout lines and i dont want anything glued to the floor. It doesnt need to be the best job I will more then likely do it myself. If I lay regular carpet do I need padding? Or if I use carpet tiles, what kind of barrier should I have between the current floor and the carpet to proctect the ceramic tiles?
- I'd be more inclined to just get a roll of second hand used carpet cut to the size of the room tack it down around the edges against the walls making it easy to vacuum , so as the vacuum cleaner doesn't lift the carpet as you move about while cleaning. It would be a good idea to also obtain some underlay to help retain the heat in the room, co's just plain carpet won't keep the heat in, you need something under it! (that's why they sell the stuff) Cheers!!

- Q: My roommate and I were cleaning carpets in our 1st floor apartment yesterday with a carpet spray called RESOLVE. We bought it at Target and tied it on the carpets but it didn't work well. Then my roommate tried to clean the carpet by water. He dumped the bucket of water and tried to dry it with a sponge. Obviously, it didn't work and the carpet is still wet. We were going to call a cleaning company but we are still trying to figure out how to dry them by ourselves. How bad is that if we just leave it and wait until the carpets dry? It's not flooded but it feels wet. I appreciate it if someone could help me.
