Q: I'm having a hard time visualizing this. I have two small black tables, a black loveseat, black TV with a black (or soon to be silver stand) and a bright red chaise lounge. I know going with a neutral beige rug would be good, but what is another different color I can go with in a rug? Bonus points if you can also tell me a good color for one accent wall... :)
Since you have the bright red chaise (and intend to keep it, I think?) and have lots of black already ... the obvious answer is white ... Black, white, and red .... can be timeless and classy, or just a whole lot of fun! Make sure to use the red in at least 3 places in the room, so the chaise doesn't look like a mistake! If you want an accent color ... OK, this will sound really off-the-wall, but here goes ... try turquoise! You could use it for an accent wall (NOT a very bright or intense turquoise ... more muted) and then pick the color up with stronger accents of turquoise (a stripe in a rug, a decorative pillow ... even a teeny amount of it in some artwork or candles). Have fun with it!
Q: What is the best way of cleaning the fixed carpet?
brush with vacuum cleaner a brush, and then suck
Q: I bought my son one but i don't know if its okay for him to drive it over on the carpet.
Yes, it is alright to drive an R/C car carpet floors, just make sure the carpet isn't too long to get tied into the wheels. its a pain in the butt to get the carpet out of the wheels or unwrapped from the drive shaft because it is wrapped so tight
Q: I am planning to rent rug doctor to clean my apt.but afraid whether its so noisy
Yeah, it is kinda loud, but not terribly louder than your vacuum cleaner, so you should be OK. Just dont run it in the middle of the night and you will be fine, and it works fairly well too.
Q: because carpets are mostly made of silk, cotton, wool and other materials, it is not easy to preserve for a long time, so the existing carpet treasures have a history of only a few hundred years.
According to the research of Iranian scientists, the carpet weaving technology in Iran has a history of at least 2000 years. Only because carpets are mostly made of silk, cotton, wool and other materials, it is not easy to preserve for a long time, so the existing carpet treasures have a history of only a few hundred years. The pattern of Persian carpet is woven after printing and dyeing with dyes extracted from natural plants and minerals. After many years, it is still colorful. For example, the famous Persian blue and Persian red do not fade after hundreds of years. Iranians regard carpets as a family heirloom. Local friends told reporters: "for Iranians, precious carpets are more precious than gold and diamonds." even rich people use carpets as value preservation products like famous paintings and antiques. Carpet has gradually evolved into an art form because it has been integrated into the ancient Persian civilization. Now many paintings, furniture and fashion decoration have been integrated into the imprint of carpet. Persian carpets are collected as treasures in many palaces, famous buildings, luxury houses and art galleries and museums around the world. In recent years, inflation in Iran has been quite serious, and carpet prices have soared all the way. The price of a medium-quality small carpet has reached seven or eight hundred dollars. As for better silk carpets, they are often thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars, which makes many tourists stop.
Q: My light colored carpets have left over soap stains from when a cleanser was used to remove pet stains. Now there are white stains on my carpets. I have tried filling a carpet cleaner with hot water and going over the stains with that but that seems to have just spread the left over soap stain. HELP! How do I remove these stains for good?
What did you use for a cleanser? If you used a product designed for laundry use, you may have damaged the carpet dyes permanently. If not and it is just plain soap, do what you do when you put shampoo in your hair, you rinse it out. Leaving soap ,from spotting stains, will attract dirt/soil because the residue becomes sticky and acts like a dirt magnet. For around $30.00 you can purchase a shop vac, small one of course, that will vacuum water. Rinse and suck, rinse and suck, numerous times on these spots, to remove the soapy residue. Dry with a terry cloth towel and a fan. (BOX TYPE) If you continue to allow a leaking pet on your carpet, you will be working on stains from urine for the rest of you life. If you would like further advice for removing urine from the carpeting, come back with a new question. See you
Q: How to clean the carpet if there is no vacuum cleaner
Throw out and buy a piece new one. call the manufacturer to deliver goods to the door,
Q: I have a large oriental rug that needs fringe. On one end, the fringe has been cut off completely. The other end has a few inches of the mesh rug backing at the end. Is there a way to add fringe and make it look fairly original to the rug?
Sure you can. The most authentic method would be to use a 2-ply wool yarn and a darning needle. Pull them through in the right place, carefully putting 2 loops in each hole of the mesh. Use a piece of cardboard about 4 inches high and the width of your rug to keep your loops even. When you get to the end, go back over the spots where your loops come through the rug and use a backstitch to catch the thread of the first with a thread of the second...anchor it...do the same thing to do the thread of the second (which is part of your first tie) to the thread of the third. Keep going until they're all anchored. Then if you want cut fringe, go back over your threads and tie them a second time about 1/2 lower than where they're sewn down. Once your little pairs are tied, snip the bottoms open. The other option won't look as authentic, but it works. You can buy lengths of fringe in the trim section of a good fabric store. Buy a length that's about 5 longer than you need for each end (so you have enough to turn under at each end). Stitch it down by hand as no machine will sew well through a rug. Use a little Fray Stay or superglue on the ends to keep them from unraveling.
Q: I need to clean my sage green carpet.....they look bad. Does the Rug Doctor work? How much does it cost? Does it make the carpet very wet? Would it be best IF I do get it to use it when I can have windows and doors open so it would air out? I really wanna clean my carpet because it is driving me crazy. If the Rug Doctor doesn't work could you tell me one that will?? Thanks a lot ppl.
rug doctors work great! last time I rented one from the supermarket, it was 50 or 60 dollars (CDN) plus you have to give them a credit card number. by the time I bought shampoo ( I use vinegar as the defoamer) it cost 80 or 90 dollars total. how wet the carpet gets depends on how wet you make it--the machine gets most of the water out. if you plan on shampooing furniture and stairs, be sure to get the upholstery attatchment
Q: i have about 12 rugs for my horse weatherbeeta turnout 600 denier saxon turnout 1200 denier, zilco canvus, two summer rugs and a polar fleece rug he is a thoroughbred and seems to need to be warm. im wondeing how many i have to put on him? and what are the best brands of horse rugs in australia victoria i hope i can get some good answers thanks! =]
In summer I use one good paddock rug (something light) and my summer shade, non rip light rug. So on the cool days and nights they where a paddock rug and the rest of the time their summer coats are protected from the sun - because we show. In the autumn I use a heavier winter rug (disappointed with my latest weatherbeeta - the straps have broken, leg straps and surcingle straps). Then just before winter comes I use an under rug as well. In the Spring as the temperature permits I undress my neds. I haven't used canvas rugs in a couple of years, but I certainly see them as more forgiving if they are left on the the horse gets a little warm. So while I love my weatherbeetas etc they are time consuming changing them along with the rain clouds. Happy riding.
