- Q: I am selling a 96 eclipse that needs a new water pump. I actually have a eagle talon tsi (the swifter yet much less solid kind), and it choose maintenance surprisingly many times. the rs is a little extra solid, yet for my area, in case you do not have funds, and its your first motor vehicle, get something a splash extra solid.... (i'm gonna hate myself for asserting this) look at a Toyota or Honda... i made the blunders of having a ludicrous motor vehicle as my first and that i had no longer something yet problems with it... i had to spend what little funds i had to maintain the piece of crap working, purchase a first rate motor vehicle for now and spend you cash on a date or something :) -do notcontinual swifter then your parent angel can fly-

- Q: I just replaced my submersable well water pump, the wire that connects the pump, the d switch, and the water tank. Everything was installed correctly and with the help of a licensed plumber. While the D switch is closed (providing power to the pump) the pump will run for about 5 seconds then shut off for about one minute. It will continue this process until the system attains proper pressure and the D switch will open, shutting off power to the pump. The pump is brand new. Why, when power is being supplied does the pump cut on and off? We have tested the current at the well head and it shows that 230 is being supplied the whole time that the D switch is closed, which is correct.
- 12 hours on a civic DX. I am a honda mechanic and I will say that this job only takes 2 hours, 4 hours if your slow and never done it before. Mind you this includes timing belt, water pump, cam seal, crankshaft seal, serpentine belts, valve cover gasket, spark plugs if needed, Honda coolant, and valve adjustment. If you are 1 tooth off on timing your Honda will run, but it will run very rough. Sounds to me like they may have the timing 1 tooth off, 2 teeth off and the car just wont run and if it does it will barely run. This car needs to be taken back and everything i told you should have been done and done properly. What probably happened is the dealer let an apprentice work on the car, since this civic is the easiest to do a timing belt on. However its still their fault that it was not done properly.

- Water pumps cost from should cost from $40 to $100. The car probably has even more problems than the water pump considering the cars age and the price for it. You should take it to a local mechanic so that they can check it out and give you their input before buying it.

- this is what, five, six questions all about the same topic? I'm so confused. what does this mean, Should I wait for water to pump up to it? pump up to what? Could be a blockage in the telltale hose or nipple. Could be a blockage in the water jacket. Could be overheating for some other reason, (lean burning due to clogged carbs, inadequate oiling cause somebody forgot the oil, bad timing, etc.) and steam in the system is blocking the telltale. Forgot the water tube guide grommet and the water tube slipped off.

- Of course this can be done, not cheaply but, it can be done. Your going to have to by an X-tol tank about one gallon then a small pump, one that can handle the amount of pressure you'll need. Then, all that's necessary is the lines to the fridge.
- Q: Hello, I'm having an issue with grinding/metallic noise from engine bay. Alternator was replaced today and didn't fix. However, when I got the car back from the garage the oil level indicator is saying quot;inactivequot;. I seem to find some answers on the web that say the oil level indicator is in some way connected to the water pump. Car has 95k miles on and I doubt it had been changed. Could this be the cause of the noise? And could anyone possibly tell me which pulley it is on the belt? Many thanks for your time :)
- E92 has should be an electric water pump if it's a 6 cylinder. The oil level will read inactive until the engine is up to operating temp. As for the grinding noise- they need to remove the belt and start the car. If the noise is gone- spin the idler pulley and listen for bearing noise. I've had a couple of alternators go bad on these cars so I can't fully fault the shop- but they SHOULD have verified the source of the noise as well as the repair. Other potential issues would be the P/S pump or the A/C compressor. (only items on the belt).
- Q: noise when i acclerate you cant hear it as much because of engine noise but when its at idle the squealing noise is somewhat loud does anyone know what it could be ? its not the water pump because i bought it new and im not overheating and the belts arent too tight either i have already checked them
- When I was a kid and had my 53 Chevy 2 dr hard top with a 327 Chevy engine in it. I remember it having a squalling. Kinda sounded like belts or pulley or alt. nope I found out what it was. It had just rained and for some reason the crank shaft seal or timing cover seal drys up and was making a squealing sound. All I did was squirt WD 40 and problem was fixed. But do remove the fan belts and start the engine as to try and eliminate the problem. Good luck
