Q: Water pump is STILL constantly running! Since this past thursday, we did:new check valvenew pressure controlnew foot valve (well)well is not dryprime, air pressure are finewe have above ground pump in the basement. we called a plumber and he could do nothing! we have water and pump/tank and everything seem working fine. But the pump is on and off every 30 seconds - 1 minute. It is so annoying and out of ideas what could be wrong. My husband think it could be the tank and suggested that we replace it. But the plumber didn't say anything about the tank. And it is not too old.Do you think it is the tank and we need to replace it? If so, we will do it on this Sunday morning even though it might cost extra charge! please help!!!
If the pump is running it is being asked to from some where. The pressure switch is what calls for it to run when the pressure drops. So if the bladder in the tank was bad it could cause an insufficient pressure fall and that is asking for the pump to run
Q: I'm building a 79 SBC (old style) 350 and have a new stock water pump...what hose and where does it go from the top of the water pump to wherever? Heater hose? Or can I just leave it plugged. No A/C I just need a heater/defroster, etc...
New thermostat, yet have you ever tried a decrease temp thermostat? Our RV 479 CI used to run a million/2 way up and three/4 in end/bypass and close to the pink line up mountain roads. I placed a decrease thermostat and it runs a million/4 and <a million/2 end/bypass. severe temps are dry out electric powered cord rubber insulators and that i have had to replace diverse the ignition wires. also it is frustrating to crank reason you have become vapor lock. The gas contained in the gas is so warm is turns to vapor and the gas pump can no longer longer suck gas because it isn't reliable adequate to suck vapor, in ordinary words liquid gas. if so, flooded start up tactics might want to artwork. floor the gas, shop it floored and crank the starter. Pump like loopy also, yet shop you foot in truth floored. it would want to start up.
Q: ok water can't sucked up more than 10 M height in normal atmospheric pressure some well s are deep more than 10 M even some water aquifers are deep more than 200 m what are technologies used to pump water to ground level BQ- how is crude oil pumped from far deep oil wells (some offshore oil platform pump oil from more than 2000 m deep ocean and another several hundred meters deep from sea beds )
You push it from the bottom. Home water wells have a plastic hose and a power cord along side and the pump is attached to the end and lowered down the hole and pushes the water up the hose. Oil wells are commonly pressurized, but where not that donkey engine you see in oil fields is attached to a long rod or cable and at the bottom of the hole is a pair of valves and a piston and the mechanism pulls the oil in the lower valve and pushes it through the upper valve and that pushes the previous oil up the pipe.
Q: I would like information to use an automotive water pump to ( or possibly another device ) to pump water approximately 60 feet (20 meters) elevation from creek without electricity. I only need enough water for 25 chickens. So we are not talking about a households supply of water.
You need a lot more information than that. My first question is: how do you intend to operate a pump of any kind without electricity? Another piece of information needed for this is how far the chickens will be kept from the creek. Required change in elevation is a factor, but so is the length of pipe through which the water will be pumped. Pumping water farther leads to more energy lost due to friction which means you need a larger pump to maintain the same flow rate. Diameter and material of pipe is also a factor, along with bends and expansions/contractions. Since you don't need exact values for this... the flow rate required wouldn't even need to be 5 gal per day. That's just a trickle of water, so basically any pump capable of pumping water up 60 feet through however long your pipe (probably PVC) will be, would probably be enough to maintain drinking water for your chickens. That being said... if this is near your house, why don't you just run a water hose out there? Put a cap on the hose, drill a small hole in the cap and leave the valve to the hose turned on all the time. You could test it by seeing how long it takes to fill up a gallon or something...
Q: Could my problem be greater than a water pump or thermostat?
Well first of all thermostates don't make leaks, -- unless they don't open, in which case boiling makes water run out! And of course it could be waterpump, it could also be radiator hoses, and radiator itself, as well as heater hoses, and heater core! In extreme case it could even be head gasket going bad! (But defiantely it will be under the hood!) You just have to check things out an see where it is coming from! Waterpump has a weep hole underneath main housing, -- if it is dripping from there,- the seal in WP is bad. But rest of things should be easy to see if you look carefully! If you have very much water leaking get it fixed quickly, and keep it full, and watch temperature carefully, if it starts overheating shut down engine quickly! If you drive overheated you WILL blow head gasket, and if going even further- too hot, it will expire engine! This is very expensive!
Q: WHERE IS THE WATER PUMP LOCATED ON A 1995 HONDA CIVIC
on the engine, in the front
Q: Hi, I need a 12/24v dc submersible water pump that can pump up to 15m but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Any help would be more than appreciated!
It's going to be hard to get any DC pump tht can pump 15m (45+ feet). Get and inverter and get a 115v/220v AC pump to do the job. Those are much more plentiful. I know it's more to buy and install, but it is what it is.
Q: i have just bought a coachman 1994 wanderer but water pump do`snt work, there are 3 wires to pump socket inside the van, white, red, yellow, only the white was fitted and reads 12v to earth, the other 2 read 6v to earth, any help as I cant find a wiring diagram on net !
you say the water pump.? or is something Al's? water pomp do not have wires it may have the sending unit for the tap riches on but the pomp is totally mechanical unit. the pomp is running by a belt to simulate the water and cool the engine, all batteries have 2 pols or an top or at the side you must remove both pols. it Sims to me that you have no technical knowledge on cars atoll. before you destroyed the van, give it to a mechanic to check it.
Q: What is the influence of the speed of the pump motor on the pump?
Influence the parameters of pump flow and lift.
Q: do I need to replace it again ? How hard is it to change the water pump? Any Idea where on the internet I can download a free maintenance manual or replacement instructions ?
If it were mine, I'd replace the belt again anyway, coolant can accelerate the wear or advance rotting of the belt. The waterpump is driven off of the timing belt so you'd need to make sure you have it all set up to TDC and all marks aligned before removing the belt. Then just remove the bolts to the water pump, scrape away all old gasket material and install new pump, torque bolts to specs w/ micrometer (in lbs) but before you can do all that, you have to remove all components on the front of the motor. Long story short...let a shop do it for you!!!
