Wilton carpet, like Axminster carpet, is woven. However the difference between the two methods is the way in which the carpet is woven. Whereas the Axminster yarn is woven into each weft and then cut to the required pile height and then reinserted when that colour is needed again –the Wilton carpet yarn is a continuous strand woven all the way through.

Q: how do you make a rug?
Depends on what kind of rug you want. You can go to a carpet store to buy a remnant, then purchase an easy finishing edge cording so it doesn't get ratty edges. Or you can do some quilting and attach it to a straw or rubber type mat. Try googling DIY Rugs and look at all the different types you can make and what the materials would cost. There are so many choices!
Q: whats the diffrence between carpets and rugs?
Carpets are wall-to-wall... rugs are pieces of carpet with finished edges, or specially-made pieces, still with finished edges. Rugs are used to accent specific areas.
Q: My cat ruined my carpet, and I want to rip it up. Where do I take the carpet ?
make ur cat eat it
Q: Hi, i already know some about Haiku Rugs from Japan, but I was wondering if any one else knew anything.Just a little basic info. that you might know and i probally don't. Thanks for the help.
It's funny but I can't find one website that gives info on those rugs! I'll do some research and get back to you. I'm quite intriuged now.
Q: help on rug costs-- geometry?
first be sure the component of the rugs. RUG1 is 29 by 40 seven ins, so it fairly is 1363in squared. RUG2 has ft and in, so shall we covert the ft to inches. We do 4*12 it fairly is 40 8, then we do 40 8+10=fifty 8. so the 1st fringe of that rug is fifty 8. the different ingredient we do 7*12=80 4 then 80 4+10 it fairly is ninety 4. The RUG2 is 58in by 94in. So fifty 8*ninety 4=5452. section OF RUG1=1363inches squared =$seventy 9 section OF RUG2=5452inches squared =$299 1363/5452 reduces to a million/4, so rug2 must be approximately 4 situations the quantity of funds as rug1. $seventy 9*4=316, so rug2 must be $316. So particular, the enormous rug is a sturdy purchase.
Q: So, I've seen on the internet about these rugs that is practically all you need all year round. It consists of 3 layers: a protective sheet, an outer shell and a reversible quilted blanket. I have only seen a few of these on the internet and none in the UK. Do you think these would be worth investing in? And would I be able to find them in the UK?Thanks in advance (: xo
I've seen them advertised in the UK but off hand can't remember where - Rideway? Derby House? IIRC they are expensive. You could probably use three equivalent rugs and pay less for them but they wouldn't match prettily. Depends whether you want economy or looks. On the basis that two or three thin layers are warmer than one thick one they should be a good idea. However, I don't have direct experience of this 3 in 1 rug. I've been at it for long enough to prefer economy as long as the performance is satisfactory. Along with others at the yard I use a Morrison's First Home duvet as an under layer indoors when it's very cold.
Q: I dropped my hot iron on my carpet. It left an iron burn mark on my brand new carpet. Do I need to replace the entire carpet? Or is there a solution to this?
Yes there is a solution~Buy an area rug and cover it! Or if your really brave and have some extra carpet left over, take a utility knife and cut the area of material out that was burned. Use the area of carpet you cut out as your 'template to cut the new piece of rug out. Hot glue the new piece in place. Purchase a good quality glue stick at your local hardware store (not the craft quality glue sticks). Also check with your carpet installer, they will also do the repair by removing the spot and bond it in place.
Q: I have a budget of about $2300 for the carpet, pad, and labor. I have inquired at two different places and have been given very different estimates of the cost of carpet per square foot that I can afford. These are the dimensions of the three rooms:Living Room: 12X23Dining Room: 12X12Hallway: 4X12How much, with approximate cost of pad and installation fees, do you think I can afford?
You are going to need roughly 46 square yards of carpet to do these 3 -- more if the rooms are not precisely square/rectangular or there are any cut outs or niches, etc. Look at the price per square yard for good quality, high durability carpet -- you do not want to have to do this again within the next 5 or 10 years. Don't just get an estimate - pick out the exact carpet you want and get an estimate from 3 companies using the same carpet, or the lower estimate will be cheap carpet, cheap padding, and will look like **** in a year or two. If the carpet costs less than $20-30 sq yd these days, it's probably garbage.
Q: Someone told me I'm leasbian and I munch rugs... For one I'm bi not lesbian and I really don't think I have munched on a rug before?
The rug referred to is pubic hair. 'Nuff said?
Q: We are having trouble with fleas right now in our home. We tried borax already and it did not work. I also heard Hartz product doesn't do anything.Right now i'm thinking of ironing the rug. will it kill them?
Throw rug or a huge rug or wall-to-wall carpet? Ironing a rug may melt the fibers if it is a polyester fiber rug or carpet. I do not think that the iron with produce enough heat to reach the base of the rug fibers. IOW, not a good idea. What the linked sites recommend is steam cleaning, even a professional steam cleaning. Be sure to let the professional know your rugs have a flea infestation. The cost might be a couple hundred for a professional steam cleaning, but that is worth the cost to be rid of fleas . If you have small rugs you can run them through the a hot washer load, and depending on fabric, a dryer.
