The rotation direction
Viewed from motor, the direction of the pump is anti-clockwise,that is the suction in the left, the discharge in the right.
The rotating direction of the type pump is clockwise, that is the suction in the right, the discharge in the left.
Also can move the driver to another edge according to the user’s requires. Then, the rotating direction, the suction and discharge direction is in the opposite as the described above.

- You should have a cylinder leak down test performed if you suspect a head gasket problem. If the water pump were leaking you'd see traces of coolant seepage at the bottom of the timing belt cover, either to the right or left of the crankshaft pulley. An easy way to check for a head gasket is to slip the smog check guy a few bucks and he can stick the probe in your tail pipe to see if your exhaust has any traces of H2O in it. If your water pump is leaking I'd advise replacing your timing belt as well as tensioner, idler and any seals that maybe leaking since t-belt removal will be necessary to replace the water pump. - Sounds to me like your impeller is shot. Just because the water pump was replaced, chances are the impeller wasn't.

- Be careful what you buy. Most aquarium pumps are AIR pumps. Why not just use a siphon? As long as the storage tank is higher than the generator it will work. Get a hose or plastic tubing of the size you need, put one end in the tank. Suck on the tubing to start flow. To stop flow just pinch off the pipe or raise the spout above the water level. you might even install a valve if the tubing is large enough.
