- Rugs, like lumber are dimensional. They can run in sizes from 7 foot 6 inches to 8foot on one side to 11 ft 6 inches on the long side. They are not always a true 8 foot by 12 foot. - Q: Do I Put the floor base moulding in before or after I carpet.. It would make sense to do it before because after to patch up the nail holes and repaint it you dont have to worry about getting paint on the carpet but it wont looks as large as the carpet would cover up a portion of it.. So my question is what is the proper time to put it in? Thanks
- Put the baseboard on before the carpet is installed. When attaching it, take a scrap piece of baseboard and lay it flat on the floor underneath the piece you're attaching, to use as a guide. This will give you approximately a 3/8 space between the floor and the baseboard, giving the carpet layers room to tack and tuck.

- I wouldn't recommend the washing machine; repti-carpet is basically just felt material and can easily become destroyed in a washing machine. Personally, I take some hot water in a large mixing bowl and some Dawn dish soap and wash the carpet by hand. I usually let it soak for a while to help loosen any debris before scrubbing. Then I rinse it well and let it air dry. Easy and works like a charm.

- Is the zout you used for carpet? I ask, because I have never seen zout carpet cleaner, only zout stain remover for clothes. Carpet cleaners will state to try it on an inconspicuous spot to make sure it won't remove the color from you carpet. You may want to rent a steam cleaner at a local store, they work really well, and then your spot probably won't be noticeable at all. It shouldn't smell after you steam clean it either, it will make the whole room smell fresh and clean. Good luck.
