- I agree it probably is the dampness of the carpet and carpet pad. I use a professional cleaning service called chem-dry. They don't saturate the carpet so now mildew musty smell. I would call a professional or shampoo again with hot water and simple green. Continue sucking the water out until you are sure there is very little left.

- the brown accent wall will draw attention to the rug and you dont want that so what i would do is get a huge square coffee table in maple wood or ash wood to lighten the room and colorful stuff on the walls to make the brown as diminished as possible. let it be the only brown thing in the room. just my 2 cents

- Personal carpet shampooers are only good for touch up cleanings. They do not get out the down deep soils. Which would not work for you in this case. If you purchase one, be sure to get one that heats up the water, Bissell does make an alright product. The rental ones are a bit better, but still are not able to get down deep and do not pull as much water out as they should, leaving moisture in the carpet that can cause bacteria. Consider having your carpet professionally cleaned at least once a year, and use your own carpet shampooer for touch ups.

- well, maybe you should move the rug, unless its a big one, into a different room, because it may be the rug, i had a cat that had a littlerbox, and but she would only do #2 in it, and my dad has this really really really nice room where no one can go in it except him [lol] and the cat would always pee on it, and the day before we had to take her to the pound, my dad picked it up and found 20 pee stains on it! no joke! but you could probably put the litterbox in the same place that she does #2. =] or change the litter, see if that helps!! best wishes and good luck!!
- Q: I am looking for someone to pull the glue down carpet I have on my concrete basement floor off. Also, would install new carpet in for a reasonable price. I will buy all the materials needed. - Removing glue-down or any carpet does not require any special skill, only some amount of strength and the proper tools. You will need a good utility knife with a couple of packs of sturdy replacement blades. You can use the knife to cut thru the carpet, making it into approx 3x3' or 4x4' sections. Then just start pulling the carpet up. Cut one section at a time, remove it then proceed to the next. If any foam is left stuck to the floor, you only need to remove the thick sections. A small amount can be left stuck to the floor since the new carpet and pad, will cover this. You can use a stiff 3-4 wide putty knife to scrape off the foam that's left behind or rent or buy a scraping tool, on a long pole to do the job. I have done it with just a putty knife. Then get some estimates for new carpet and installation. Home D and Lowes offer almost free install.
- Q: The carpets in a house we placed an offer on are ick. Well they don't smell and most of the stains I think will clean out but they eventually need to be replaced. But due to other costs we have to address first we want to clean them. Is calling a professional steam cleaner the best way to go? Does steam cleaning really do a good job? We have shampood carpets before with horrible results.
- You can get a professional to clean them. My brother used to clean carpets and I worked with him one day and this one house had the biggest transformation. Made a really big difference. I like using my parent's carpet cleaning machine on my floors, but you said that you didn't have good results when you tried it before.
- Q: my mom wants to get a big but not too big or expense dragon rug. Where can she get it online? That really looks like a dragon? every time my mom searches for dragons rug on the computer she gets weird and not dragon rugs or even close to it. We live in a small town so the stores around here do not any dragon anythings. sO where can she find one that is worth the prices and the right size and looks like a real dragon and not a blob?
