Q: I have a house cleaning business, we clean 2 homes a day and after buying 14 vacuum cleaners in the past 2 years I am done with spending money on vacuums that don't hold up or are 2 heavy or have so many filters to clean that you spend your evenings doing that. Yeah they are expensive, but in the ned they are worth all your money. they can do a demonstration in your house and everything.. Q: The one that starts out with vacuum cleaners making a squeaking noise? Damn i hate that commercial.: OMG. You too?! Yes, definitely annoying. But obviously that makes it an attention getter, which is what they want. I could be doing anything and not paying attention to the tv, and the minute that commercial comes on I'm like WTF, what is that? Ughhhhh. Haha.

Q: So why are dogs afraid of vacuum cleaners?: The noise from them have a sharp pitch to them that us humans can not hear and it ends up hurting the dogs ears. My dog attacks the vacuum lol.

Q: Do I need to Vacuum up pet hair, etc before I use one of these Bissell Upright Steam Cleaners. I was going to purchase a new Bagless Bissell Pet Hair removal vacuum and the aile over I saw the Bissell Pro Heat cleaners for like 100 bucks more. Can I just get rid of my vacuum and use this steam cleaner instead or do you still need to vacuum before you clean. Or can I use steam cleaners without the water now and then just like a vacuum?: You have to have both. Steam cleaners aren't designed to be vacuum cleaners. (I haven't heard of a dual purpose one yet.) You need a vacuum cleaner for weekly general cleaning in between steaming and you use the steam cleaner for cleaning every couple months or if have a particularly tough stain in carpet or a large house party to clean up after. Or just buy the vacuum cleaner and rent a steamer when you need it. Or hire Stanley Steamer to steam clean for you. The only people who really need to own a steamer and use it frequently are those with white/light carpets and lots of foot traffic and pets.

Q: I am currently looking for a new vacuum cleaner. The old one I've had is falling apart and its being held together by a shoulder strap and duct tape. I am currently looking for a commercial upright or backpack vacuum cleaner but I'm not sure if they are meant for home use. Can you help me out here?: Sure why not. If you can find a store that sells one. I'd check in the yellow pages for commercial cleaning supplies. Expect to pay a significant premium. It will not have more suction. The plastic bits will be replaced by metal and it will have a longer cord.

Q: has anyone used one of those automatic vacuum cleaners??: Yes, they only work decent on wood floors,and it takes them a very long time to do the job, you can do it yourself in a fraction of time compared to how long it takes the robot to do it and some time it won't get the whole area, justs keeps on cleaning the area it just went over, I think they are worthless, just a novelty devise.I'll sell you mine if you really want one (LOL) oh... and they are worthless on tiled floors.

Q: Can anyone/everyone help me in knowing what to buy as far as vacuum cleaners go?? I am in desperate need to replace the piece of crap that I currently have and are having a heck of a time doing it, for there are oh I don't know millions of them!!! I have a cat, 2 adults 3 kids so I definitely live in a High Traffic Household. Also I need one that comes with a hose (not just the floor sucking kind) and lots of attachments cause I like to go against the wall where the kids get dirt in the corners and the cat gets cat litter. PLEASE HELP!!!: Think of a vacuum cleaner as an investment, not a disposable which is mostly what you get for $200 or less. Would you rather spend more right now for something that really works for you and not have to buy a vacuum again for 10 years or more, or spend $200 now and have to spend it again every couple of years, and in the meantime not having one that does what you need? I have a Filter Queen that I bought used in 1988 for $500. It's had a couple of tune-ups in that time but still works as well as the day I bought it. I also have one called a Ghibli, which is a little more like a shop vac but very quiet and miles better than your basic Sears shop vac(I bought one of those first and it was such a piece of garbage that I returned it), and I'd recommend it highly. Lots of suction, and the quietness is wonderful. Stay away from uprights. They're okay for carpet, difficult to use for much else. A canister type does much more, better and easier. Go to a store that sells and repairs vacuums. They often have used top-of-the -line stuff for good prices. They know the products the way someone in Wal-Mart never can so they can help you choose something that works for you. Christmas is coming. Maybe you can say a good vacuum cleaner is your Christmas present. Not as fun as jewellery maybe but every time you use it you'll be glad you spent the money.
