Q:I am planning to buy a vaccum cleaner to my home. What do you guys think having a portable one rather than the normal heavy kind?Any idea about the price of an average one?: A bad idea. I think Dyson make the best vacuum cleaners and there not too heavy if weight is an issue. Portable models often lack the power to clean well or quickly, and in the end when your cleaning those two reasons should direct your purchase.

Q:I've been waiting for it.: According to Dyson they have advertised that Our vacuum cleaners really suck. Electrolux has advertised their products with Nothing sucks like an Electrolux. I have no idea who was first or if others have also used similar slogans. I have read complaints about Black and Decker products where it was stated that the only product they make that does not suck is their vacuum. Personally I have not had much experience with their products but with the couple I have had they were OK considering most were less expensive and for small occasional jobs they were sufficient. For serious working I have my quality tools that also carried much higher prices. For air pumps that plug into a vehicle lighter socket I can say that my Black and Decker air pump has been excellent having filled many bike tires, wheel barrow tires and other things. After 25 years it still blows.

Q:I've had my Dirt Devil bagless for only a few years. It was running just fine before we moved to our new house. Our new house has berber carpet. My vacuum does not move well on this type of carpet with a lot of dragging. What is a smooth flowing vacuum for very low carpet?: I recently purchased the Dyson Animal. I was shocked at how much dirt that this thing picked up. There are no bags, just a canister that you empty. It is pricey, but you will be impressed on how well it does.

Q:case in point: we have bought two vacuum cleaners in the last 4 years that have stopped working. i mean, we only vacuum once a week or so, and these were name brand vacuums like hoover and such for around $100 or so. they shouldn't have died so quickly. anyway, i bought an antique vacuum from the 1940s off OKorder and it works like a dream. i imagine if it has lasted 60 years, it will serve me well for many more. i am just sick of cheap products. anyone else buy antiques instead of quot;brand newquot;?: Yes, most stuff made nowadays is cheap, plastic imported junk.

Q:Now one nipple is slightly larger than the other. How is this problem resolved? Can it be fixed?: why doesn't he just do it to the other nipple too, then they'll be the same, and then you could go the gym and look for some chest exercises, that way they nipple size will stay equal.. ...[rofl]

This mechanism allows for the brush to stop automatically if an object becomes obstructed in the roller. No more melting the power band. This unit has a 1200 watt motor that is never clogged. The tank capacity is 1.06 gallons and the cord is 27 ? feet long. Best of all, it is equipped with a HEPA filter for cleaner breathing by the user.

Q:What are the best vacuum cleaners on the market today? I've heard good things about the Dyson, how bout you?: I have a Dyson. It does work well. I love not having to change bags, but more then that the washable filter is priceless because my last vacuum (a Hoover upright canister vac) had a filter you were supposed to replace every three months. I never did because I could never find one to buy! I'm positive its performance (and my allergies) suffered because of it. The Dyson sucks (in a good way) like it claims, without losing suction, but it is still just a vacuum. If you have carpet in poor condition it's not going to magically fix it. It will however keep a newer or decent carpet well-maintained. I use mine at least once a week on very light beige carpet and I've owned it probably two years or so. My only complaint with the version I own (a Best Buy exclusive at the time) is that the vacuum head is bulky. To get under my bed or along under some built-ins you have to use the hose with the low profile head attached. It works fine, but having to switch is a hassle. I'd buy it again.
