Q: Me and my boyfriend have quite long hair. Mine to my waist, his almost halfway down his back. Very thick. The problem is we always destroy vacuum cleaners, from all the hairs we shed. Any ideas for special vacuum cleaners, tips, etc?
You need to buy a vacuum cleaner that can handle hair. Check with consumer reports. We have a Bissell and it works great on pet hair. Or get a shop vac. Or cut you hair short.
Q: has anyone ever bought a Dirt Devil Purpose for pets cyclonic upright vacuum? how did it work?? please help me. i'm about to go buy one from walmart but i need to know how well it works.
Consumer Reports Magazine has a long article, with product ratings, on vacuum cleaners in the current March 2008 issue, on page 36, that mentions Dirt Devil three times. There is another article on vacuum cleaners in the October 2007 issu
Q: Are these vacuums really as great as people say they are? Are they really the best vacuums? I've always wondered about them, I may do the 30 day trial some day, but I'd like to find out more about them first.
I have a cheap ole Hoover from Wal Mart but if I were to spend the money, I'd seriously be looking at the Dyson vacuum with the ball. Yes Oreck is top of the line and so is Dyson, I like the idea of the maneuverability the ball on the Dyson gives.
Q: when the long hair gets tangled in that spinning thing under tthe vacuum
lol. We don't shed anymore than anyone else. It just seems that way because the hairs are so apparent. Yes, it does screw up the vacuum if you're not careful. I always turn mine over to check and see if the rotating brush thing is tangled before I go to use it.
Q: I have very long hair and two cats who shed terribly. Most vacuum cleaners I've purchased get bound up quickly due to the hair issue that I have in my household. The belt and the brush roller need to be replaced often. Do you have any suggestions on a good vacuum (one that doesn't require financing) that I won't need to turn upside down every time I use it just to clear several strands of hair?Thank you very much!
Go okorder and look up Eureka AirSpeed. I bought one and it cost me less than the (better) one I bought 25 years ago. I don't have pets. But, I am amazed at all the dust it sucks out of the carpet.
Q: thee is so much talk about kirby vacuum cleaners ,are they that good?anyway i want to test one and looking for one to purchase onlinewhere can i look?
We bought a used '94 Kirby in 1996. We paid $400. for it. I like the powerful suction, but it also comes with drawbacks. The following are my opinions about this Kirby: 1. I don't like the cost of replacing the filters (they're about $8. a bag and only have 3 bags in a package. 2. It's not easy to change from vacuum to using the hose. 3. It's kind of heavy and bulky and doesn't maneuver easily. In my opinion, it's not worth it. You can purchase a bagless Dyson for around $500. and they work great. Does the $1800. price include all of the attachments? Do you need all those attachments? Are all the bells whistles worth $1800.?
Q: is there a name for fear of vaccum cleaners? because I KNOW i have it! ever since i was an infant i would screem frickin bloody murder in my crib when my mom would run teh vacuum cleaner. when i was jsut a small child i would run from it, afraid it would suck up my toes. and now, today, at 14, i cannot STAND the loud noise they make and i do NOT put my toes in front of one. it takes me a few moments before i can even bring myself to turn it on. the bigger, louder they are, the worse my reactions. sometimes at work (i volunteer at a veterinary hospital) i have to ask one of my co-workers to do it because i will purposly busy myself just to get away from it.please, do not laugh at me. it's embarrassing enough and i just want to know the name of it.thankxx! :]
no name?
Q: I know they're like vacuum cleaners but is there anything they absolutely cannot have, aside from chocolate?
Grapes, raisins, avocado skin/pit, onion, cooked bones (exceptions are bones in sardines, canned salmon etc), fruit seeds/pits, anything with xylitol, coffee/anything with caffeine, walnuts, macadamia nuts, large amounts of garlic, yeast dough, alcohol.
Q: Vacuum cleaners work by suction and suck up dirt. That would finally be correct usage of the word suck.
People do say it. I've heard it several times, and have jokingly said it as well.
Q: ...what would you do?
I would give you the vacuum cleaner at no charge and quit selling vacuum cleaners.
