- Q:Ok i bought a decent hoover just before christmas and it has blown up the thing is last year i had 3 new vacumn hoovers whats wrong with me? What do i do wrong? I have to hoover 3 times a day due to have 3small children under 6 but its never bashed around i really am fed up. Anybody have any suggestions?
- I understand where your coming from.I'm the same way.My husband would tell me I don't know how to vacum. Not true. I noticed when my vacumes break its either because i picked up coins or a paper that was too big too handle. I know that some vacums show that you can pick up all this stuff without damaging it not true.I guess my suggestion is to pick up coins and papers or anything that looks like your vacum wont be able to handle. What i have right now is a rainbow which has lasted me a while. They re a little costly but if your like me always having to buy a vacum because they break I would recommend it.I'm also a mother of three best of wishes.
- Q:my mom has a vacuum cleaner that is electrical and has a filter that our suppose to dump and well shes gone threw tons of vacuum cleaners and just gave up and is keeping this one well it gets clogged up and a lot of areas and her birthday is coming up and i would like to fix it for her so she doesn't have to put up with it any more what do i do?
- First of all, unless your mother is very enthusiastic about her vacuuming, don't fix it for her birthday. Take her out to dinner, buy her a nice pair of slippers and her favorite perfume. Not a vacuum. All you can do is clean it out as much as you can. Look for larger objects that may have been sucked in and remove them. If it is clogged with a bunch of hair from someone or some pet, try and stop that hair from reaching the floor. Combing your pet on a regular basis and throwing away the hair not only helps your animal in the summer heat, but also keeps the hair off the floor. Good luck, and find a better gift for your mom than a working vacuum.
- Q:One of my dogs loves it.. I just vacuumed him for about 10 minutes.. he was in heaven! My other two are afraid of the vacuum... lol
- My last dog didn't mind being vacuumed. She was a very heavy shedder (GSD-mix), so occasional vacuuming helped keep things under control. I also once had a roommate who regularly vacuumed his cat. The cat seemed to like it. I haven't been brave enough to try it on my cats, though...
- Q:Im just moving into a new house, and I need a vacuum cleaner. I would like something under 300 US$ and that i can find in a store such as sears, wal-mart, etc. It also needs to be a canister vacuum cleaner. Please help me find the best deal.Thank you!
- walmart-Dust Devil.
- Q:I am trying to find an inexpensive vacuum for my apartment. One day I will buy a fancy expensive one but I need one now and that is not what I can afford. I have been looking at what vacuums people recommend and it sounds like the bagged vacuums work better. However, most of the ones in the stores are bagless so I had assumed that was better. Is that only true with high end machines? Or is everyone carrying bagless just because they look cooler on the shelves?
- Bagless vacuums are getting hard to find. Go to a vacuum repair shop and see if they have any reconditioned ones for sale.
- Q:Our old dryer wouldn't dry clothes so we replaced it with a brand new one. We're having the same problem so I'm assuming the vent is blocked. I'm not very handy and I electrocute myself routinely so I want to make sure I'm not doing anything dangerous if I hop on the roof with and try fishing any crap out of the vent. Suggestions or warnings?
- You can buy a dryer vent cleaning kit. Look at home supply stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. follow the instructions and it will be like new again. It does take two people; one at the base of the vent and another in the attic or where the dryer vents.
- Q:I don't know much about vacuum cleaners. My vacuum cleaner isn't working now. I changed the filter, but it does not pick up the stuff on the carpet. I vacuum over it and it doesn't pick it. I don't know what is wrong with it. I think our last vacuum cleaner may have done that and we just got a new one. What is wrong? Is there a vacuum repair person that fixes vacuum cleaners? Where do i go for that sort of thing?
- Do you have a Dirt Devil upright? Anyways, take the attachment hose off. Make sure it is not clogged. Remove dust lint. Make sure the vacuum cleaner roller (turn over) is spinning when on. You can take the roller off and make sure there is nothing wrapped around it. There isn't much to a vacuum cleaner. Just keep it clean they will last for a long time. Dirt Devil vacuums are notorious for this. Don't waste your money on having repaired. You can do these thing yourself.
- Q:And why is it that once you've run out of bags, you can never find the ones for your vacuum at the store?(Anyone who uses the word suck in their answer will not get 10 points.)
- It depends on the brand, age, and maintenance you provide your vaccum with. They need to be regular serviced. You can do this yourself. Of course, never vac foreign objects, look around on floor each time before hand and pick these items up. Don't run your vac for too long of periods of time. This will cause the motor to overheat and sometimes will kill the vac. Keep the beater bar clean regularly by unplugging tthe vac first, flip it over, remove the screws on the bottom and pull the cover off. Pull the beater bar (rotating bar) out and use a razor or sharp knife to slice down the center of the bar and then pull out all hair and fibers. While it is apart, check the extra compartment (most new vacs have) that traps foreign objects to keep it away from the motor. Clean it out if needed. Replace the belt if needed, change the bag, and put it all back together. This is servicing your vaccum. Do this regularly, like every two or three bag changes and your vac should last longer. Try checking more stores to find your bags and if you still have no success then try online. Maybe for your next vac purchase, you may want to look into purchasing a bagless canister vac with filter. They are affordable and easier and in my opinion more efficient and sanitary. Good luck!
- Q:My bagless vacuum is about 1 year old. We change our HEPA filter and the round filter under the dirt trap, clean the washable sponge as instructed. Recently, all of a sudden the machine smells really bad like a dead body is inside the machine. Anyone with a solution?
- If you pick up a stink-bug (swarming this time of year in the mid-atlantic and NE), dead mouse (reaching under radiators or beds, for instance) or other critter, that would cause a stink pretty quickly. And permeate your filters even if you clean the cup. Re-clean everything, and clean the hose and cup as well. Baking soda and some of the smell-killer sprays will help with the hose.
- Q:Where in Bahrain can you find lamp shades, and Bissell vacuum cleaners?
- Go down main abut 3 miles, make a quick left, go north on the one way street with the funny overpass, make a quick left then a right, it's right there on your left.
