Why do cats hate them so much and has anybody ever had or met a cat that doesn't mind vacuum cleaners?: It like nothing they have been around before. Its loud and on the floor moving. It looks mean to them and makes a lot of noise. They see it as a threat and like a monster and they dont want it in their house. Its scary to some animals. Its just unknown to them and the moor they are around it the more weired the strange device gets.

Q:Iam supposed to do costing for a modification that we are doing for a hand held vacuum cleaner, the modification is an retractable arm.I want to know how are hand held vacuum cleaners manufactured, (forging, extrusion, injection molding??) What would be the cost??Any help thanks: Look at the hand held vacuums they have in the store. If the housing is plastic, it is a 99.99% chance it is injection molded. If it is made of metal it could be extruded if it has a constant cross section along its length. Aluminum is a very common extrusion metal. I would doubt any high volume hand vac would have a forged housing, but I don't get out that much. Casting and machining is a possibility. As far as costs, it all depends on the life of the tool, and the number of cavities for a mold or a casting. If you mold/cast one part at a time it is much more expensive than two or four or eight. The more you mold at once, the bigger the molding/casting machine and the more expensive the mold/casting. So it depends on how many you want to make in a given amount of time, and how many through the life of the product. Finally, for your modification, do you have a design with drawings and a volume target? That is the first step to figuring out costs.

Q:I know that most cats are afraid of the vacuum cleaner, but when we vacuum our adult cat will hide for hours on end. We have dark carpet so we vacuum almost every other day. It took him 4 hours to come out from behind our table, and when I coaxed him to me, he just sat frozen next to me and stared at the vacuum that was across the room. He was literally shivering at the sight of it. When I went to put it away, he went back under the table. I cannot get him to come back out. I've tried leaving him in another room while I vacuum, but he knows how to open doors and hates being shut up in our room or the bathroom. Last time I tried, he opened the bathroom door and then bolted under the table. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I have to vacuum frequently, but I feel guilty when I do because he is so afraid. We have had him for about 2 weeks and are still trying to figure him out. Is this normal cat behavior, or are most cats simply bothered by vacuums?: It's skittish my brothers cats will run even if your leg twitches . I don't know if there a coat you can get him like they have a thunder jacket for dogs. Leave the vacuum out one day and let him sniff it. Since you haven't had him long he could still be getting use to everything.

Q:I know this may sound ridiculous, but whenever my parents run the vacuum cleaner, I get a really bad headache and I really want to get out of the house. Please?: So you have a phobia for vaccum cleaners. A phobia is defined as being scared something will happen in the future. (Something like that) So the only thing you can do or the best thing to do in my opinion is to face it. Its a treatment actually. What you do is stay there when they vacuum. And even when your anxiety raises to the top. Because the way panic attacks work is they go up, and they hit the ceiling, and have to lower. So if you stay there, and let your anxiety peak, then lower back to regular. The fear that something bad will happen in the future will disappear. Or weaken largely. Because your sitting there, and nothing is happening, and even though you know inside nothing will happen to you your mind still reacts that way. (Like some people are afraid of bunnies) So sit through the vacuuming and I am sure that you will be able to face it time after time after that :D
