Q: ?? Poll: When you were wee little, were you afraid of vacuum cleaners?: Nope. Viking vacuum cannister on chrome sled rod. I could ride it and it sounded like a jet and looked like a torpedo. Later versions had invented the wheels. and became more breadbox like or saucer like. Not as much noise or sparks coming out of the exhaust as now instead of being directed behind, it was blown down onto the floor. Not enough power for lift off.

Q: rainbow D4SE: Yes, any one selling vacuum cleaners door to door will take any old vacuum in trade. Remember though that these people work on high mark up and in turn high commission. Hold out on making a quick sale to get your best deal. Many people are ripped off by door to door sales people who are desperate to make a sale. A fair commission is ok, as every one is entitled to make a living.

Q: I have one of those Roomba sweeper robots which I really like since it saves time, but my mom doesn't seem to like it for some reason that I don't know. Does anyone here have one, and how do you think it does?: Roomba is good in theory but doesn't work as well as other vacuum cleaners. It's suction is much weaker.

The salesman pays a set price but is free to charge as much or little as he thinks he can get. They usually start asking for about $1600. They are not worth it. Neither is Rainbo. A Royal Commercial is very similar to the Kirby but in my opinion better made. And half the price. If you want a good vacuum go to a janitorial supply. Be prepared though. They still are not cheap. But Commercial will last and do a better job. I can't stand Kirby.
