Q:i have 2 dogs and a cat and my carpet and kitchen floor ( tile) is so dirty because my vacuum cleaner is broke: I once said when someone asked me if I owned a shark: Never could, never would, no one should. They are by far the biggest creators of knock off machines of what is supposed to be good (Dysons, other companies' top of the line machines). In the end they overheat and die prematurely because of bad design, and consequently become very noisy or just start out that way. I would also never buy a product from a company that is at the bottom of several other companies. i.e., Shark is a division of Euro Pro, which is part of Eureka, which is owned by Electrolux, which is owned by another company(name escapes me). Each company goes up in rank of quality, Electrolux at the top, shark at the bottom.

Q:If One doesn't care about phase-frequency or voltage and need a high speed generator can current be fed to the rotor so that these motors can be used as a generator?One more question:What voltage is needed for the rotor? Say for example the120 volts single phase motor's normal running speed is 10,000, what voltage needs to be fed to the rotor so that if one is turning the motor at this speed it would generate around 120 Volts. I know there is a lot of problem with this set up but since its being converted to DC and used in a hydrogen production system, Voltage or frequency isn't a big issue.: Plug-in drills and vacuum cleaners have usually been universal motors, essentially the same thing as series connected DC motors. I don't believe they can be used as generators without changing the internal connections. The Dyson vacuums apparently use permanent magnet motors as do battery powered drills. Those motors would probably make good generators, but you would need to eliminate the electronic control and connect directly to the motor coils. Any motor that can be used as a generator would generate the rated voltage at the rated speed for which it was designed as a motor.

Q:Or how noisy are they? Like blow dryers?: Like hair blowers, they are all noisy to a certain extent I don't care what the manufactures say. Any time you have a motor running, you have noise, the bigger they are, the more noise. thanks :)

Q:It's 2014 and it doesn't really seem like vacuums have come that far. What's worse, they like everything else on the market are made for the dump. So whatever deal I happen to find on a seemingly decent vacuum is really going towards the next seemingly decent vacuum..... the vacuum I own is a perfect example! it ran me about 50 bucks but it's crap, and overall the cleanliness of my carpet, and air are the real cost of my savings...The only vacuum that I can say really proved itself in front of me was a Kirby, but there's no way in hell I could justify quot;to myselfdropping 1500 or more (depending how good the salesman was) on a vacuum cleaner....even ifit'll suck dirt through 12 inches of cotton...So to my question, what vacuum cleaner brand, model, etc. has the best suction and filtration but also won't break the bank??? Somewhere around $100-$200 maybe even $300 if need beAny info is appreciated, thanks in advance: Dyson, eureka, shark, dirt devil, Bissell, got 20 of each laying in the office. Spend real money on a Kirby that will last 20 plus years cleaning up to 14 inches deep. Call for a demonstration at your local Kirby store. They'll Show You the Difference between Kirby and any other.

Q:i turn it on,it emits this stink like warm spoiled cheese. i never used it for anything other than my carpet,and i never used it to clean anything wet. and the machine isn't even a year old yet. i purchased it brand new.: Cleaning the hose i detach it from the machine and provided that it's not a current carrying hose what i do is a partially fill the hose with warm water and dish soap then i move the ends up and down to swish the water through the hose be sure to rinse it out with water and then if you can blow it out or hang it up and do not use it till it's dry

I'd hate to ruin my bagless vac, esp. since it's a pricey Dyson.: I would Not use the bagless vacuum, I'm thinking the particles from the spray my get lodged in the intricate parts of your vacuum and do something to it. If the particles are trapped in a bag no damage is done. I'm just guessing.Good luck.

Q:Okay, I won't tell you who thinks what, but one of us think that you should dust your furniture, before you vacuum that way whatever dust gets on the floor its vacuumed up. The other thinks you vacuum before you dust...So which is it, do you dust before you vacuum or after?Please help this is so small but I would just like to do one of those kinda I told you so things.. Its a wife thing!: Some vacuums blow dust back in the air. It then resettles back on furniture. Better to dust after you vacuum.

Q:How can I fix a vacuum that will not turn off. I vacuumed up a piece of clothing and pulled it out of the bottom, ever since the only way to turn the vacuum off is via the plug. Any suggestions?: that sucks
