Q: I have this rug that's in my garage that I want to put in my room. It used to be in my old room when I was younger but I don't want to put it in my room because I had it in my room when I was 12-14 (Now 17) and it was a horrible time, I used to get in trouble,grounded,awkward moments,just horrible stuff. I know I'm being superstitious but I don't want to have bad luck in my room. I think that If I put the rug in my room it will invite all that bad. I really want to put it in my room but I can't.It will bring back all those bad times. How do I overcome this? And is it bad luck? Help please.: There is no such thing as luck. If something we can't explain happens, and it's good we say we had good luck, and opposite if bad things happen we say we had bad luck. Luck good or bad is a state of mind. You must stop associating the rug with the bad times of the past. Think about it, the rug had nothing to do with the things that happened in the past. If your life has changed, and your more stable in your daily affairs the rug will not change that. It may be good to put it in your room you did write that you liked the rug, and that you would like to put it in your room. I say go for it. After a short time of it being back in the room, you should be able to let the past, and the fact that the same rug was on the floor go. Make new, good memories to replace the old bad ones that the rug reminds you of. It's not the Rug sweetie.

Q: Do most people prefer carpet over hardwood/vinyl/linoleum?Carpets collect dust hair mites and all things gross.. and you have to vacuum which costs money.. not to mention hard work and is loud and annoying. Also, many Americans wear shoes in their homes. So why would you want a flooring that collects the dirt on the bottom of your shoes? When has home carpeting become generalized standards for most homes? Anybody know?: Most homes don't have carpeting at the entrance door where alot of people take their shoes off. Carpeting has a pad underneath it, unless it's like mine where I have underfloor heating in my ground floor living room. Little kids like to play sit on the floor, so carpeting is warmer/softer for them in the winter months. Most bedrooms are carpeted for barefoot warmth. (You can't fall asleep if your feet are ice). Mopping shampooing is work, shampooing a carpet is done less frequent. I'd rather have baby tip over and bonk his head on carpet than on a tiled floor. Full room carpeting became popular about in the 60's. Under floor electric heating is catching on, I have it in my bathrooms built in '99. ele ^ (my delete isn't working)

Q: a lot of people have walked on my carpet and i was wondering if anybody knew how to make it look new?PLEASE HELPPPPP!:]: how old is the carpet? your best bet is to get a pro carpet cleaner in, they can be expensive but they get the job done as best it can be done! if you cant afford one then try rent a carpet cleaner, i know home-base (i think) rents them out but if you don't have a home-base nearby you can always go to any hire shop and ask if they do it, they'll supply you with the detergent too and its actually kinda fun to do it yourself! and if you rent it you can do all your carpets at no additional cost! good luck!

Q: My kids were not supposed to have drinks in the living room but of course they did and one of them spilled orange soda on my brand new 300$ rug. And of course being kids instead of coming and telling me right away they tried to clean it up with water and then hid it and I did not find it until this morning. So I have soaked it in this carpet spray cleaner and cleaned it with my bissel cleaner 3 times and it still remains! Please help me. Tell me what will remove this terrible stain!: I know this might sound daft, i am from uk so over here its called bath mouse, you know the cleaning foam that cleans your bath, Well once my mate spilt red wine on my carpet and it was the only thing i could grab in a rush and it worked like hell. Q: I have several dogs! Im not sure but isnt partical board that wood thats under the carpet.: That is a tough one. We purposely didn't buy a home because of that problem. I am assuming you can rip of the padding and carpet, and use either a bleach and water solution, or even those dog urine cleaners. Either way, I think once it's absorbed in the wood, the smell is always there. Sorry.
