- You need to pick up the same color in your wall and a tad of the green in your existing rug. No, not lime green! I suggest you find a rug first that will look good with your existing rug and then choose the shade of purple that you can pull from the rug. There are lots of paint colors but limited amounts of rugs. Maybe a cream background with the dark green and some shade of purple? Hold off on your paint color for now. Or, the same shade of green as your carpet with some shade of purple and cream in the rug. Then, match your wall color to the purple in the rug you choose.

- Depends on the exact backing on the rug you want to put down. A lot of backings can ruin wood floors.. Some will scratch them up, some will permanently discolor the wood.. If your using it just as a area rub, there are special thin mats that you place under the rug and they stay in place without having to staple them down, If your going wall to wall then I d suggest a padding to help stop this.. - Yes, they are pretty good... I work at Lowe's and I'm planning on renting one when the store opens.... It's costs about $25 per day and you don't have to use RUG DOCTOR soap.. Any kind of machine soap for rug cleaners will work... I've use some commercial machines like the Bissell and it just didn't work properly... I've found that a wet/dry shopvac works very, very well in areas that are spotted.... Just remember to take out the paper filter inside before you use it for wet applications.... Apply pretreater to the area and rinse with cool water... Keep using the tools to extract water and the stain... It may take some time but, if it's just one area. You can also get a special cleaner made just for pet accidents. We sell one at LOWES but, I can't remember the name..It's like a NATURES MIRACLE type product and it wasn't that expensive.. It's enzyme based so the stain gets eaten away by proteins... . * I'm setting up and opening a new store- I'm new to the company! That might make your pooch less persistant in the that spot... Also, sounds silly but, put down a large piece of aluminum foil on the spot AFTER it's done being cleaned.. They don't like the feel of it on their paws and will avoid the area...

- Some carpet stains can be removed with a paste of 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and 1/4 cup salt or baking soda. Rub into the carpet stain and let dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day. (Always test on an out-of-sight part of the carpet first).
