- The front wheel bearings are sealed - no repacking possible. The first source has a picture. If the bearings are not making noise they are probably okay. Once they get noisy replacement is the only option. However, verify the axle nuts are properly tightened. Loose axle nuts will chew up the axle splines.

- My answer is a. I plotted the bearings on a plane: starting point is (0,0) and got (15,10), and (85,0). This means the first distance traveled by the boat was the nearest distance to the starting point.

- there is more to it than that, first of all if you need pistons and bearings then more likely than not there will be excessive wear on the crankshaft, and also you are going that far, the heads should be rebuilt, because putting a new short block, with old worn out heads, invites more problems. Besides, it would be cheaper for you to buy a long block, and have it installed, than pull the motor and take it apart, add a few parts and put back together an undependable collection of old and new and worn parts. Personally I would put a later model 5.4 chevy small block engine, transmission with the wiring harness and computer. this will make a screaming quick firebird, with about the same fuel mileage.

- You may need a lot more than the bearings. If the wheel is really bad the cones may be shot with a possibility that the bearing cups are finished as well. If that is the case, your wheel is done, finished, toast. The only way to find out is to take everything apart. Don't buy anything until you have taken the axle out, the freewheel off and have inspected everything

- Ryan W Doesn't know what he's talking about. What he just explained shortens the life of the bearing even faster than addind WD40. Don't take it apart just add the speed cream. Been skating for around 17 years and taking apart the bearings wrecks them completely

- WD40! Get a can and a small dish / bowl... Fill the bowl up 3/4 complete with this WD40 and enable the bearing soak in it over night. the subsequent morning you may pull them out and wipe them down... ultimately merely grease the bearings and positioned them lower back in.

- The bearings are pressed into the uprights, so you need to take the front upright off the vehicle, press the old bearings (2) out and press two new ones in and reassemble.

- $10 isn't bad for a set of bearings, especially ABEC-9's. However, bearings are overrated. Unless you are a pro, and can utilize any gains you get from top of the line bearings, you can get away with any old style of bearing. I get mine from my neighbor. He is a supplier of industrial bearings. I get them form him for about 25 cents each. I have gotten a bunch for my friends as well. They all say to a man they can't tell the difference. Spacers shouldn't wear out, so unless you have another set of wheels, you shouldn't need more that 8 spacers. I get second and third sets to make wheel changes easier. I play on wood, concrete, and sport court, and can't afford three pairs of skates, so I change wheels for each surface. Have a good one! Steve.
