- to clean skate bearings get accetone (preferable %90 or more) and remove the sheilds from your bearing. next place the acetone in a cup. next place you bearings in a cup. stir or shake until the dirt is out. dry . reasemble
- Q: I have a racing bike. I've heard other racers using ceramic bearings in their wheels but not in their engines. Im based in Singapore btw.
- Sure can and any of the better riders will have them in their bikes as they produce less friction. A company called Black Mamba have them Just goes to show how outdated some peoples advice can be as I could list any number of professional riders who use ceramic bearings in their bikes as they do make a difference. In the here and now a standard crf250r is around 36.5 on a dyno and to make them competitive they need to become at least 43. The ceramic bearings make the bike rev up quicker and smoother and any person who is a dyno specialist can tell a bike that has ceramic bearings in it just by that alone. So it does make a difference. Oh and thanks for the thumbs down mr B and I must say I just loved your answer to the 6ft tall guy who has a klx125 and you told him that it was the best bike for him to start racing on. I can just see a 6ft tall guy turning up to a mx track on his kiddies bike and finding no section to race in and being laughed out of the place. Perhaps you should ask Chad Reed if he runs ceramic bearing as I know the answer to that one. The question was also can you run ceramic bearings, not should I.
- Q: when im parked on a flat surface my tires sit perfectly straight and look completely normal, then when i park on a small incline the tires and wheels spread t outward really bad, it turns and drives fine, it has 35 inch tires and 16.5 wheels and ive heard 4wd can cause it to do that but if anyone can give me some info thatd be AMAZING..lol-thanks
- Could be wheel bearings, upper or lower ball joints... Either have an alignment shop check, or jack it up and check all of them yourself....
- Q: i have a 94 vigor and im going to replace the front rotors/pads soon. it has rotors pressed on the hub (common on early 90s hondas) so when changing the rotors, new wheel bearings have to be put also because when pressed out, the old bearings will be junk. so i will have to remove the steering knuckle and take it to a machine shop so the can press the new bearing in.

- DO NOT listen to the other guy. Reds are known for being the best performing bearings in skateboarding and they are very inexpensive. I mean sure if you spent like $50+ on bearings you might get slightly better then Reds but really it's not worth it. reds are great. i've skated other bearings, always go back to reds. ask anyone at a local park
- Q: I need to get my honda aquatrax trailer's bearings greased up and I'm no handy man. I don't know if the PWC (jet ski) dealer (also a motorcycle dealer) would be willing to do it or if i have to go to a car mechanic.
- your marine service shop should be up to the task of maintaining your marine trailer too. if they arent, you shouldnt be going to that shop to begin with. any normal car mechanic should be able to handle it too. its actually a very easy job, if you dont mind getting grease on your hands. wheel bearings are wheel bearins are wheel bearings..... and there are also places that deal more specifically with trailers. they would be able to handle your marine trailer maintence too. i would suggest you add a set of bearing buddy caps to your shopping list for parts. they have a fitting on them that allows you to pump grease into them without popping them off. and a spring that forces the grease through the bearings and out the wheel seal (if over pumped you will ruin the wheel seal). just pull off a little plastic cap, check that the spring is half compressed and you will have no bearing worries ever again. if the spring is ever getting relaxed, pull out the grease gun and give it a few pumps. bearing buddy caps claim to be a final solution to keeping the bearings full of grease and working properly. IF used properly and kept full, that claim is true.
- Q: I don't even know if the bearings are broken. The wheel is not spinning well and it feels like the bearings could be broken. How do i check if the bearings are broken? If they are broken, then how do i fix them or do i have to get new ones? If i do need to get new ones, then how do i know which ones to get? Or, do i just need to get a new hub? Which one would be the easiest. new hub, or try to fix/replace the bearings. By the way the bike is a BMX bike. specifically a Fit Tech 1. Thanks!
- It depends on what is actually wrong, and how bad it is. If there is a clicking sound coming from the hub as you spin the wheel, it could be a broken bearing. The clicking is caused by the remaining ball bearings rolling over parts of the broken one. Most cycles have cup and cone wheel bearings, but some later top end ones could have a cartridge bearing. If one or more of the ball bearings has broken, and the wheel hasn't been used much since it broke, then a new set of bearings could be fitted. The hub will need to be stripped, cleaned, checked for wear, and if there is no damage, re - built with the new bearings. If the wheel has been used for some time with a broken bearing, then the bearing surfaces in the hub may damaged, and it will probably be cheaper to replace the wheel, rather than fit a new hub. If in doubt, take the wheel to a reputable cycle store, and ask them to look at it, they should be able to advise you on the best solution.

- ABSOLUTELY! I've been ridin' The Wave for a couple of years now, and I def switched over to better bearings once I was ready. You def want to make sure that you have mastered ridin' the board before you make the switch. I'm pretty sure that Street Surfing is going to start making upgrades available, but until then, go for it. Just be ready for the faster speed. If you haven't checked out their website I'd give it a look, some cool vids/pics there, even some 'how to' vids if you're looking for some tricks to do ( THEWAVE.COM ). Hope that helps you out, the answer to your question is YES! Upgrading the bearings is something that anyone can do to their wave board, I would actually suggest it for more experienced riders.
