- Q: Which method should be used for axial fixing of needle roller bearing in stamping outer ring?
- One end of the needle roller bearing in the stamping outer ring can take the bearing end cover and fix the outer ring in axial direction. How can the other end be fixed?
- Q: My 2000 4x4 Lifted Ford Excursion has a clicking noise when I am driving, on the front driver side. I can take my foot off the gas an it is still there no matter the speed. I am thinking it is a bad Hub/Bearing? How would I know for SURE that is what it is? Any tips on what to look for if I jack it up? Thanks.
- CV joints usually make noise only on hard turns under acceleration. It's more of a low knock knock knock noise. Wheel bearings make more of a grinding sound, similar to the noise made by a brake rotor being ground away by the metal part of a brake pad after the pad material is gone. The wheel bearing noise gets louder as you go faster. Clicking noise can be caused by anything stuck in a tire (stone, nail, etc.) and I've seen brakes make a clicking noise when the pads are loose in the caliper mounts. If you jack the car up, you can try shaking the tire in and out holding it on the top and bottom, or from left to right which will tell you if you have worn suspension parts or a bad wheel bearing. Noises are at times hard to pinpoint. Make sure you check your lug nuts, they can loosen up if not torqued properly. Have a mechanic take the vehicle for a ride, test drives are usually free.
- Q: I'm pretty much broke and looking for work. I have to keep driving the car 'til I can find work. I don't know when I will be able to fix these things, but I'm wondering what will happen the longer I drive on bad bearings and intermediate drive shaft.
- its a front wheel drive no drive shaft. you have two axles, two wheel bearings and the final drive bearings in the transmission. which bearings do you think you need
- Q: You have nine ball-bearings, all of the same size but one slightly heavier than the others, though not enough to be detected by holding them. You have some balance scales and are allowed to do only two weighing of any number of ball bearings. How do you find the heavy one?P.S. please answer this so I could get 5 extra points in my exam .lol thanks!!!
- Weigh three ball bearings against another three ball bearings. If one side goes down then you know the heavy one is one of those three. If the scale balances then it is one of the ones you didn't weigh. Weight two of the three containing the heavy ball against each other. If one side goes down then it is the heavy one. If the scales balance then the heavy one is the one you didn't weigh.
- Q: We just got a 98 cavalier and it makes a sound when we make a right turn. It also make the sound when we drive straight but you can barely here it. We were told by a family member that the bearings probably need greased. How do you do that? DOes it sound like the bearings to you? Thanks
- if you can greese them you take them off the spindle put the greese in the palm of you hand and smack the bearing across the greese but if this is the problem your bearing may be sealed and if this is so you will need to buy new ones. 2nd i would look at the 1/2 shaft does it make a clicking noise?if so its the 1/2 shaft not the bearing hope this helps. p.s. on a 99 gmc 3/4 ton 4x4 to get a bearing you have to buy the rotor and all as it is made as a single unit it happened to me $400.00 latter it was fixed
- Q: I have been watching tons of online videos on how to clean inline skate bearings, but none seem to be using the same bearings mine have. I have a pair of Rollerblade Activa 8.0 with SG9 bearings. It does not look like they can come apart the same way the others do to me. Any suggestions?
- Stiffle it Red and stop trying to sell your products (lame). First take your bearings and put them in a pyrex or metal container and place in the oven at 250 degress and let the thick greese come out. this will speed up your skates by 25%. After that, spray them with wd-40 until the bearings are free flowing. then with a hairdryer, dry the wd40 so it is all gone. After cooling, spray with Heavy Duty Silicon Spray (greese attracts dirt and slows things down, Silicon is light weight and non restrictive element that will speed things up.
- Q: I have been checking with at least 3 different mechanic about ongoing problem in my Buick park avenue 2003.only one told me that I need to replace both front bearings and also asking me to replace tires(which I did and problem still exists) also right front tie rod..none of these other mechanic are sure what is the problem..Problem is this...Car seems pulling(no break problem) and wheels wobbling..making wide turns..what is could be?looks like all these mechanic don't want to deal with to fix my bearings..what you say?
- take it to a GM dealer. their techs will perform the proper diagnostics and fix it. they'll get it done right instead of these chain mechanic shops
- Q: I lubed my bearings, loosened trucks, loosened my wheels, now I hear a rattling noise, wheres it coming from? Its a longboard. The wheels are made of like a rubber substance, so I dont think the problem is inside the wheels. The noise sounds metallic, so Im guessing the noise is coming from the outside wheel bolt, or the top cup washer. Can anyone experienced or knows the answer help me out? Im an amateur Please help me out. The sound gets annoying to me and my friends when i cruise.
- umm wheels arent supposed to be loose.. thats when they fall off. and you die. not a good situation if you like living
- Q: What skateboard wheels, bearings and trucks for my sons new pool skateboard?
- whats a pool skateboard? sorry to be rude but for a new reguler ground skateboard i would get: board: Plan B (8.0 times 32.0 or 31.5) bearings:Reds Trucks: Ventures,Royals wheels: Chocolates,Hubba,Girl
- Q: i just purchased a boat with a tandem axel trailor. the left rear tire on the way home after about an hour on the road heated up to the point grease was oozing out all over the rim and the hub was to hot to even touch. i tore the bearings out today and was wondering if it was indeed the bearings causing this to heat up or if there is something else i need to do and if it was the bearings what i need to do and how i need yo pack the bearings back in and get this to end the problems. the trailor has trailor brakes but i do not have the trailor hook up in my truck could this have caused this and if so how i could disable the trailor brakes to keep them from catching. thank you for all help
- If the heat was caused by the bearings, they should be slightly discolored. On my tandem axle car hauler, I installed grease caps with zerk fittings on them. Before each long trip, I get out the grease gun and give each about 15 pumps. Since yours gets exposed to water, I would pull all and repack, looking for signs of corrosion, pitting or rust, and discoloration. Replace as necessary with new seals. Get the greasable caps.
