I think I have a slight rod knock and am going to try and replace the bearings but I wanted to know if I have to replace the main bearings too or if there is a way to know. Also does anyone know if I can replace the main bearings on my car without having to pull the engine out? I know I can do this for the rod bearings by taking oil pan off and replacing them...I have a 1996 honda accord LX

Q:whenever i ride my skateboard its really rough and doesnt go far at all. Is this because of my wheels or bearings and i have tried to put like WD-40......

its your bearings man you wheels might make it feel rough but not going any where fast is all your bearings you probably bent the ring around it or got dirt in in or something.Dont bother trying to fix them just get new ones trust me its not worth the time trying to fix they are still going to be bad.

Q:I learned that I need to have my wheel ball bearings replaced. What would happen to my car if I dont replace it?

The ball bearings in the races if the wheels are not serviceable. The entire wheel bearing hub assembly must be replaced. When front wheel drive wheel bearings start to go bad they'll roar like a freight train getting louder as you drive faster. If they are not repaired you will ruin a spindle or a CV joint if your wheel doesn't lock-up or crash into a wall first. NAPA sells SKF wheel bearing hub assemblies and Carquest has Timken. Don't shoot yourself in the foot by buying off-shore wheel bearings.

Q:i have 4 wheels and when i spin 3 they sound fast and they make a roaring sound and they spin for at least 40 seconds but when i spin the last wheel it makes no sounds and it spins for atleast 20 seconds, and when i ride on my skateboard it makes a weird sound

its fine, it's normal not a biggie at all

Q:recently went to tire discounters to get some new tires, and they told me both wheel bearings were bad and my tie rod end was bad? me being a diy'r on most car things i said ill fix em, but they refused an alignment til my problems were fixed, though the wheel bearings aren't making any noise yet, i figured i would change them once i had the extra money to pick up a press and the bearings and shims i may need to press it in, if i replace just the tie rod end will they be able to align my car?

As only one other person said, yes you can align a vehicle with shot bearings or steering system, though once you drive off it'll through everything off again resulting in you wasting money. You don't have to buy a press, any local parts store Napa/Autozone/etc. will have one you can rent. Once you replace the tierod ends and the bearings your car won't be as suicidal which in my books is a good investment.

Q:And if abec 5 is better. Should I put them in my penny board?

ABEC is basically meaningless for skates or boards. It is a vibration (higher numbers may roll slower) for high speed machines that are running at speeds that would be around 200 mph on a board. The quality of the maker is more important and some abec 3 bearings may run faster than other abec 5 bearings. The durability of the bearings is also more up to the maker and is not covered by anything in the ABEC standards. Bones is known for making very fast running bearings (they, along with Twin Cam and Zero Drag, make bearings that violate the ABEC standards so they can roll better) but have a reputation that sneezing near them will cause them to rust.

Q:I lubed my bearings, loosened trucks, loosened my wheels, now I hear a rattling noise, wheres it coming from?Its a longboard. The wheels are made of like a rubber substance, so I dont think the problem is inside the wheels. The noise sounds metallic, so Im guessing the noise is coming from the outside wheel bolt, or the top cup washer. Can anyone experienced or knows the answer help me out? Do you have bearing spacers??? They go inside the wheel between the bearings. They allow the bearings to be tightened all the way without messing up the bearing.

Q:I was driving my 98 civic ex automatic around a corner, hit an icy patch and slid up on to the curb. (impact was on the passenger front tire) After the curb incident my left front end bounced up and down and when I would speed up the wheel started to shake back and forth.I drove home slowly and parked it and I am unsure wheat to do. The tire is not flat and it looks like two of the 4-lugs are sticking out further than the other two(?)...Does this sound like a case of broken ball bearings??If so, are they expensive/hard to fix??And, how long will this take at a shop??

i think you meant a rod or something, ask a mechanic for the price, like 2 days to a week

Q:is the lucky or red bone bearings the best for making your skateboard go faster

Reds are your best bet. Although i would recomend getting bones swiss bearing. They may be more expensive, but they are well worth it. With bones, abec doesn't matter. Abec was designed for bearings for the industrial use. Although abec 7s arw good, bones dont have abec because they dont need it. They are further designed to resist the hazards that skateboarding may have rather than most bearings.
