- Q: I've cleaned my 5000-C but the spool doesn't let line on unless you pull even with everything turned to the lowest. Im trying to figure out if the inside has bearing because the bar in the spool doesn't come out at all. Is this normal or is it suppose to come out once you remove the white gear? Need help asap... I've got two other Ambassadeurs and would love to use the 5000-C as another go to reel. Thanks!!!
- the only bearings on the 5000C are the ones at the ends of the spool shaft. one external, underneath the tension adjustment cap and the other inside the opposite sideplate, held in place by a small metal clip. *the only BALL bearings. other turning contact points have bushings which to a nit picker, are, in fact, bearings.
- Q: Some folks say that using them to go through or under the rubber cover on a tie rod end doesn't get grease into the joint itself. Sound reasonable?Many ball joints these days don't seem to be greasable with them at all -- am I missing something?Can the needles lubricate sealed bearings, and if so, what's the technique? - Q: I took my car to the dealer within two months of purchasing it (after I had taken it another repair shop--being told that the bearings needed to be replaced). The dealer told me that it was most likely my bearings but that for the time being they were only going to rotate my tires. Now the dealership is telling me that my tires are worn and that I need to replace all four tires. My car had 20K miles on it when I bought it with this tire issue. Thanks for any advice!!!
- If the tires need to be replaced, replace them. If the bearing(s) are bad replace them too. When you are done, kick yourself for not having the vehicle inspected before you purchased it like you should have.

- i had some panthers for my first set of bearings, and they were alright. u get what u pay for i guess. but my friend got a set of the bones reds (only like 17 bucks) and they WAY outlasted my panthers, and they were way quicker. but recently someone asked me what kind of bearings i ahd and i didnt even remember. i took a look and realized im still riding my lucky abec 7's from 3 years ago! i hadnt thought about em in so long cause ive enver had a break, and they all still run so fast and smooth. id definately reccomend my lucky 7's. if not, then pick up a set of bones super swiss 6. those things are amazing. or, if your in it for something cheap, look for some called filters ive only seen em at one shop, but everyone ive talked to thats had a set said they were the best.

- 37 seconds after cleaning and re-lubing. Haven't been broken in yet. Make sure the shields are not dented. they should be flush with the outer race of the bearing. Test: setup Bones Swiss bearings Trucks: Indy Wheels Santa Cruz OG Road riders 75mm 79a I prefer Pig Swiss over Bones, had some that were cleaned and ready for a spare set.
- Q: im trying to open like a bike shop kinda thing,and i was wondering if like any kind of grease or lube will work for bike bearings and the handlebars.? help?
- Hahaha you chose an amazing time to ask this question! I'm in no way a professional bike rider but just yesterday I ventured to replace one of my bottom bracket bearings. I was told to use thick grease, NOT oil (if that's even a question in your mind.. bably not though). I successfully took it all apart, removed the grease that was in there (there was a LOT) and put the one new bearing in and the old one, along with a good amount of black general purpose grease. It worked flawlessly too, I've been riding it around all day with no problem. Hope that helped! And good luck with your shop :)
