Q:I recently blacked out and fell onto the floor face first, causing some moderate rug burns. I'm wondering if I should be concerned about scarring, and if so what I should do to prevent it. I've been keeping a coat of neosporin on it constantly so far.
Regarding the rug burn, it does not look like a very deep wound from the picture. Most scrapes are shallow but painful because a large area of skin is missing. Shallow wounds do not usually scar. My brother went headfirst over the handlebars of his bike about 6 weeks ago and had some really nasty scrapes, some of which were moderately deep, and he didn't scar at all. Just keep it clean, wash it daily with soap and warm water. Keep using the neosporin as well. That will prevent infection and keep it moisturized; both of those things will help speed up healing, and the faster things heal the less likely they are to scar. Once it's all healed there will be some residual redness in the area for probably 3-7 days, but that isn't scarring and it should go away. Regarding you passing out, I would advise a doctor's visit. Getting light headed when standing is called orthostatic hypotension and it has a number of possible causes; some of them are fairly serious, such as a heart problem. Your orthostatic hypotension, plus now an unrelated episode of fainting indicates some sort of underlying problem. Better to go and get checked, just to be safe.
Q:i have a cream colored rug and i got mustard in it..how do i get it ou? anyone know an old trick or any other advice????

Q:my carpet it is filthy. it has smelled since the day i moved in a month ago and the bottom of my feet are gray after walking on it. the apartment managers refuse to change it and have told me i can break the lease but i would be penalized. who do i contact to have my carpets tested or confirm that they're not up to standards??
There is no standard for carpet in any area. In fact, the landlord doesn't have to provide carpet at all. It sounds like what is happening is that the landlord is using a cheap carpet cleaning service that is getting dirty water back on the carpet...if the carpet cleaning leaves too much water in the carpet, it will mold and mildew with closed windows. My advice: 1. See if a friend has a dehumidier you can borrow...that will be most of your problem. 2. Find a carpet cleaner that has a Chem Dry system...that is a specific type of cleaning... (NOT STEAM CLEANING!)...I have found these to be far superior. Cheap carpet will also release dye.
Q:How to do if there is a little piece of carpet broken?
Seam up relatively bigger embroidery on the back of it, chic. With a piece that it has almost the same color of the carpet
Q:My son dropped the mustard jar it exploded.....It's pink plush carpeting now it has yellow orange streaks....How do I get it out?
There are lots of carpet cleaners that will get the stain out, but the one that I can always rely on is the Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner. It's like a vacuum that sucks up the stains! And not only can you use it on the mustard stain, but you can use it on your whole carpet. It's probably your only hope right now, because mustard dyes carpet for good. You can find one at Home Depot, Lowes, Bloom, or Shoppers Food Warehouse. Satisfaction guaranteed. Best of luck!!! ?
Q:I just moved into a 1st floor/basement apartment. Its currently has tile floors wich are nice but are extremely cold to walk on in the winter. I was thinking about putting carpet down until I stumbled across carpet tiles in home depot. Since im renting I dont want to damage the current ceramic tile floor, should I lay down regular carpet or use carpet tiles? I don't care about grout lines and i dont want anything glued to the floor. It doesnt need to be the best job I will more then likely do it myself. If I lay regular carpet do I need padding? Or if I use carpet tiles, what kind of barrier should I have between the current floor and the carpet to proctect the ceramic tiles?
Before you buy anything.....ask your manager/landlord FIRST. If they are ceramic floors - then YOU can NOT glue anything to them. You will probably only be able to buy area rugs.
Q:I usually take more care when i use pastels but i really felt like doing something creative in the spur of the moment so i got out my soft pastels and art supplys and when i was done i noticed some pastel got on the carpet does anyone anyone know how i can get rid of it?BTW my mum only just put a new carpet which was pretty expensive in so i need to get rid off it without her knowing preferabbly or shel be really mad :SPLEASE HELP!!
Some carpet stains can be removed with a paste of 2 tablespoons white distilled vinegar and 1/4 cup salt or baking soda. Rub into the carpet stain and let dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day. (Always test on an out-of-sight part of the carpet first).
Q:I've always wondered. Is it for insulation or confuse rodents? Please let me know. thank you
Didn`t know this practice was limited to Russians. Are u sure ur not confusing rugs with tapestry. I`ve seen some very large, beautiful tapestry wall hangings while touring the historic mansions of Newport, RI. Wall hangings r in style today, only in smaller scale. Wish u had described the rugs in more detail and where u have seen them. Maybe they do use rugs for insulation or to block sounds in small living quarters.
Q:Is it a good idea to buy hand-tufted rugs as they are inexpensive compared to hand-knotted rugs ? On average how long does both types last ?

Q:Would a chestnut suit this rug?
