Q:Baby had a ball with foundation in bathroom. Cleaned everything but the rug. It's vanilla-colored, and is 100% cotton. Any hope?
don't throw it in the washer just hand wash it with some SA8 solutions all fabric bleach it works great.
Q:is there anything people can suggest to get an odour out of an area rug... it says specifially that I can't shampoo it so thats out.I can try febreeze but that always seems to just mask the odour it doesn't actually get rid of it.I think the odour itself stems from our vacuum, it needs replacing but until then I need to figure out a work around for this smelly rug as my infant usually has his play blanket ontop of it and has tummy time on there so I really don't want it to smell anymore.1. Can't shampoo2. Febreeze only masksAny suggestions please!!
this odour was it caused by something that you spilled on ? perhaps milk! a steam cleaner would get it clean , why do you say that you can't shampoo? shampoo the entire carpet , keep the window open when you can and sprinkle some baking soda on it before vacuuming, it has nothing to do with the vacuum it self ,unless the bag is full and needs to be replaced,
Q:What is size rug would a 14.2hh connemara type pony need? Also what basic rugs would a pony whos turned out and stabled need? Thanks
Average Rug Sizes
Q:Okay so for the past few years I've been making latch hook rugs. They take up too much space and I was wondering if there is a way to sell these? I don't really have people to sell them to, and I was wondering how one would go about getting rid of these projects while not throwing away all your cash. I am afraid to sell them on OKorder because someone might accidentally be deceived and think that it was an unfinished latch hook kit, and be surprised to find a completely finished rug at their doorstep. Any suggestions?
You could sell them on Craigslist. You can sell ANYTHING on Craigslist! Craigslist lets you post pictures, if you wish ... so potential buyers would know what they were getting.
Q:Me couple of friends are looking to get carpet to do up a quot;cubby housequot;. Crap carpet seems to be 90 to 100 dollars per broadloom metre new. Obviously it does not have to very good quality. Is there any wayyy cheaper solution to this? (South of Perth, Western Australia)
Go for it, It sounds fab... :)
Q:Today I put my green fuzzy rug in the dryer for about 15 minutes to clean it a bit and before i put it in the dryer it was not wet and it was all clumpy when i took it out. I also used an aroma therapy dryer sheet to make it smell good- vanilla. Now it looks like sheep wool on a sheep! I was wondering if you know how to get it back to normal. It is also in knots ( I tried combing and brushng it out). please help me asap. it says:Front: 100% acrylicBack: 100% polyesterWash in cold waterDrip dry onlyDo not bleachDo not iron(It is from walmart)if that helps
it says drip dry only. the rugs done. the polyester melted together.
Q:is it bad to leave wet rugs on horses?
If the inside of the rug is warm and dry you can leave it on. Its supposed to get wet on the outside when its raining, like how our waterproofs get wet on the outside but are bone-dry on the inside. However if it is at all wet on the inside I'd change immediately. I know of two horses who died of pneumonia last winter because the owners didn't change the rugs when they got soaked through and so they got incredibly cold.
Q:I am making my own rug with a random pattern. One of the strands broke on the canvas and i have a large area i can't work. How do I repair this? Any help or suggestions (other than start over) would be appreciated!
I used to make my own hooked rugs...just cut a patch of canvas the approx. size of that damaged area and incorporate the patch into the rest of your wool pattern...you could thread some thread first so it will stay in place as you are hooking the rug...Since it's a random pattern it will not be noticed (only from underneath) Right?
Q:what is the best way to hang a rug?
There are many ways to go about hanging a rug. I will mention my 3 favorite ways: 1. Sew a long and narrow piece of cloth along the top of the rug (sew along the long edges, leaving a pocket that is open on both sides in order to insert a dowel that will keep the rug straight across the top) You could do this to the bottom as well in order to weigh the rug down, making it hang flat against the wall. 2. Sew double-sided velcro along the top of the rug and on the two bottom corners of the rug. Some velcro comes with an adhesive which you would paste onto the wall (or could be attached to a piece of wood that would then be mounted on the wall if the rug is too heavy). 3. Simply sew loops at even distances along the top of the rug which would then be hooked to hooks/nails/etc, attaching the rug to the wall.
Q:I have carpet at one end of my house and tile on the other end. i want to install new carpet but still keep the tile. how do i install the carpet with tile at the end of it???
Transitioning between carpet and tile is the last step of any tile installation project. It finishes the project off for good. When you are completing a tiling project yourself, it is important to remember to roll the carpet away from the tiling area instead of cutting it to where you think the tile might end. After the tile installation is finished, the carpet can be rolled back over the tiled area and the edge of the tile can be used as a cutting guide so the carpet will be cut exactly where it needs to be cut.
