Q:I keep pads under my Oriental rugs. I bought rubber backed pads for all of them but I noticed that it's disintegrating - turning into a fine powder. Has anyone had any experience with better pads and can recommend something better?Thank you.

Pads are must for rugs whether its an oriental rug or some other rug. It increase the life of rug.

Q:Are rugs supposed to more or less engulf a room and be under the legs of your furniture (in our case that would be the 8X10), or are they used more as accents rugs in front of couches and chairs, not actually touching the furniture but filling the empty space....hence the 5X8?Or are there no rules and anything goes in the world of rugs?Also, any suggestions for selecting a pattern are welcome. Our chairs are neutral, but the couch has a strong leaf with some floral pattern to it, and in addition to struggling with size and colors to match it, we're also having problems with pattern on pattern. I suppose the safest thing to do would be just to forget rugs, since we seem to be challenged in this area - but the floor desperately needs something and the room needs a punch of color to balance it. The rugs should be under the legs of accent pieces like kitchen tables or accent-end table. I'm not sure if the rule extends to the larger pieces.

I am going to buy one exactly the same - for the same purpose! my friend has one and it goes under everything - stable rugs, quilt rugs, outdoor winter rugs, canvases, deniers, even summer rugs just for the extra warmth - everything! She has had no rubbing problems and swears by them! I am going to get one exactly the same and i am sure you will have no problems with it! All the people i know who use them have no rubbing problems or anything as i asked them the same question - so from what ive heard - go ahead and buy it!!! kizza

it depends on which country you are from.rugs are the english name for american blankets.kind of like the differance between a girth and a cinch they both do the same thing.in america it would be easier to find horse blankets than rugs but in reality if you live in a really cold climate you can get blankets to keep your horse and foal warm on the really bad days.but otherwise horses need shelter from the wind and rain and snow if they have these they will be fine.horses will grow a winter coat which will keep them warm in winter.make sure you feed them sweet feed or other feed that will keep their energy level up or make themhot for winter.my horses are pastured but have unlimited use of the barn stalls and other run in sheds around the pastureto shelter them from the weather.i am not too keen on blanketing horses unless i can keep watch on them all the time.buckles can get caught on things or cut the horses blankets get torn and under hoof.horses survived the ice age and millions of years without blankets and rugs by using natural shelters. edit; i live on the high plains in colorado where it doesnt snow it snows sideways and drifts and my horses have had no problems in winter

Q:I am putting in 2 subs in my car with a plate so the subs look like the back of the trunk. Problem is that my carpet has quickly deteorated due to my previous box and I want to replace it. I am going to cut out a plywood sheet to fix the bottom of the car then install the carpet on that. The plywood is going to have a hinge to swing it up so I can get to the spare tired + add extra support. I need to do this by saturday before the subs are installed. What thickness plywood should I use (Thinner is better for me and I am going to drill holes in it for weight reduction) and how do I install the auto carpet so it's smooth and looks nice.Thanks!!!

Trunk carpet and most other carpets are preformed to fit, you can get one from a auto upholstry shop or the dealership, they are held in by push pins to install them, any mods you do to the trunk you have to mod the carpet to compensate, as for the ply wood, you might wanna go with 1/4 inch thick.. not being there it is kind of hard to imagine what your doing, but anytime your modding a trunk, there is alot of problems you can come across.. most modders when doing up a trunk say hell with the carpet and make a custom fiber glass mold (very professional job), so, all in all, write these plans out before you do them and also make some measurements, gotta remember you have only one shot at this so make it a good one.... best of luck to ya.
