- Q: How much would a carpet cost to buy and install 12 x 12
- Depends on the cost of the carpet per yard which is how most carpet is sold. 12' x 12' is the equivalent of 16 yards of carpet, You also need to buy pad if the old pad is worn (its probably as worn as the carpet you are replacing), Go to your local carpet store and get per yard prices for the carpet you like. As a general rule, for the basic no frills in-stock Home Depot variety carpet, I would figure approximately $9-$10 per yard and about $2-3 per yard for pad (I know prices vary but thats a rough idea). Around $200. As for the installation - you will have to call around to find out the per yard price to install because it varies depending on where you are located.

- Q: I have carpeting that I just got in December of 07 and in a rush yesterday, left my hair straightener turned on setting on my carpet! I got home and notice it was still on and it has scorched my brand new carpet!!!! So stupid, I know! Its a small spot, but its now brown and my carpet is very light tan mix so it shows well. Is there anything that I can do to bring the color back or at least make it look a little less obvious without replacing the carpet?
- My ex-wife works in a real-estate type business. It really depends on where the burn mark is (traffic area etc). I know some carpet places will actually cut a section of carpet out totally and refit another piece cut from a different area, like a walk in robe or closet. I have seen the repair jobs done by a PROFESSIONAL and you cant tell the difference. I know this wont help you if you don't have an area to sacrifice another piece. I take good care of them and keep them as clean as possible but these round stains in various places make it look really bad! How can I make them go away permanently. I'm tired of hiring expensive carpet cleaners where they look great for a month or so; then these same spots seem to come back plus additional hairballs which I try to catch as soon as I can.Thanks.
- If you have had your carpets professionally cleaned, and they stay clean for a while only to have the same spots re-appear, this means that the padding under the carpet is hopelessly stained. The padding stain will continue to wick up and stain the carpet until the problem is fixed. The solution? You need to have the carpet peeled back, cut the stained padding out, and replace that part with new padding. Any carpet installer should be able to do this. After replacing the stained padding, have the carpet professionally cleaned again, and it will stay clean. Hope this helps. -

- Let me know when you find a solutions, because I have one too. Just don't walk on it. It will not shed if nobody touch it. It is good for looking, not practical. And you can't use vaccum on it, got take it outside to beat it.

- No take your dumb boyfriend to the cleaners you wont get a curry stain out of a sheepskin rug although you could try bleaching it if it hasn't gone down too deep into the wool Try Hydrogen Peroxide from your chemist shop. if that won't shift it you need a new one sorry
