Try to get this job done while the humidity is still low and the furnace is running, and use exhaust fans to speed up the drying process.

Q:I am planning to rent Rug Doctor Pro from home depot. It says its a carpet cleaner. Someone told it's not steam cleaning. Whats the difference ? Should I just go with the carpet cleaning ?

It is not steam cleaning. Its just normal carpet cleaning. Steam cleaning would be using only steam like an iron steam to get the wrinkles out. Our water in our commerical truck is 200 deg. Just use hot water.

Q:Does anyone know where I can find a large area rug, mostly black with gold detail? I was looking at oriental rugs, but I'm not particularly fond of any of the ones I've found so far. If it was up to me it would be mostly black with some kind of golden chinese dragon in the corner, or just be asian themed. Any ideas!?! Please!

a carpet cleaner is a great idea and their cheep to rent, low suds soap of your choice the cheaper kind is ok sometime s better than name brands

I love the color sage green; there are several things that you could do to give your bathroom a update and they can be pretty inexpensive. 1. I love the color raspberry with sage green. I think you could get a shower curtain in raspberry and leave the tan rugs but get a raspberry towel. This should still pull all your colors together and give you an updated look. I think you will find out that you don't mind the tan rug 2. Go for a spa look! White towels and white rug, leave walls sage green use black for accent - give it a zen look. I really like the white towels and rug since I can bleach them and feel that they are cleaner. 3. Another color that would look good and is sometimes overlooked is a navy blue. Get the towels and rug in Navy and let the shower curtain and pictures be your accent colors. of course these suggestions are based on you keeping your same wall color... good luck

Q:We are going to replace our flooring in the basement, it has very expensive cushony white carpet, and over the years with kids and dogs, it no longer looks white. Our basement is just under 1000 sq ft, and don't really feel like ripping all the carpet up. Its a very warm, dry basement, no dampness or leaks. So could I just put the laminate over this instead of using an underlay? Or is that just asking for trouble later on?

absolutely not! it will not lay evenly, if the carpet is dark dirty in spots you are trapping all that underneath ripping up carpet takes a day of labor, cutting in strips with a carpet knife makes it even faster
