Q:The other day I just found out that I had a hand-made rug that was made in Iran and bought by my grandparents about 10-15 years ago, the rug is about 6x8 and they paid around $2000 dollars for it.My question is what is the proper way to clean a rug that is hand-made? It has not been cleaned in years only vacuumed... and also is there a market place for these rugs? if I do decide I want to sell it.
I also have an old middle eastern rug and I only vacuum it. I understand that the best thing to do if it needs cleaning is to consult an antique rug dealer who might do the cleaning in house or be able to refer you. I have heard the usual rug cleaning services are not right for this type of work.
Q:I need it to be neutral colors, like beige and cream and brown, 5 by 7, 100% cotton. I have searched the web but have come up empty handed.
Rugs USA, they have Chandra rugs that would be right on for you, sister.
Q:Do carpet beetles attack pets?
Yes it is very true. They live in the carpet like little vagrants. When little fluffy is walking to her water bowl just to get some water that is when they ATTACKKKK!!!
Q:What is the adhesive of the red carpet of the automobile exhibition hall
Or putting the car will fold. Using speed reach can be more reliable. Before getting on the car,the plastic cloth pad can be put, then the car is put well, tears off the cloth, pressing three to five cm in seam
Q:If I lay down a lot of rugs in my apartment (I AM ON THE 3rd FLOOR SO I HAVE SOMEONE UNDER ME). No complaints as of yet but I want to turn it up a bit will laying out alot of rugs help or not? If you have a better idea please help!THANKS!
It may help to muffle the noise but will not soundproof the space. If you're looking to turn up the TV or stereo bear in mind that there is little you can do to prevent noise transfer without having a building that is constructed to address noise control. If your floors are concrete you are in luck because there is much less sound transfer with concrete that other type of floors. Wood substrates in converted or older buildings can create major noise issues for tenants. If you share walls with your neighbors putting in foam insulation pads (like those used to control cold air) at the electrical outlets and switches may help a tiny bit. Keeping stereo/TV speakers away from shared walls should also help. You may consider putting speakers on a stack of old towels to reduce sound transfer through the floor. Your best bet may be to talk to the resident(s) beneath you and ask that they call you if the noise is too much. Discussing it up front can create good will with your neighbors and help keep you aware of what is considered reasonable. See link below for more detailed info on sound control issues in apartments. Good luck.
Q:I vacuum every day with a kirby sentria. I read somewhere that vacuuming daily can ruin your carpet, but I haven't had a problem (yet). Supposedly it'll wear out the carpet sooner? I use the correct settings for my carpet. We have a 3 year old, a dog, and 3 cats, the thought of vacuuming even every other day kind of sickens me when I think about how many crumbs and how much hair can build up in the carpet lol.Is it okay to vacuum daily? Not gonna have to replace the carpet every 3 years if I do it that way?
It's not necessary to vacuum everyday. I don't think it's a problem if you DO vacuum everyday though. I vacuum once every week or two because I don't make huge messes that require vacuuming. Another thing you can do is vacuum a specific area. Like vaccum the rug your animals play on every 2 or 3 days just to keep it fresh. But as for bedrooms and hallways, it's not necessary to vacuum so much.
Q:Would you please tell me how to connect the floor tiles with the carpet?
The carpet has a very small T in layering, tile edge, careful worker, and then came the carpet the carpet is pressed into the T bar, also should be careful to do, just to cut the carpet, because the note is very small, cut a little bit will be exposed.
Q:I just moved into a brand new house to then spill bright red nail polish all over the carpet any ideas on how to get it out without ruining the carpet?
This happened to me a few weeks ago. Mine was the ENTIRE bottle that my cat knocked over while I was asleep!! I got it out though!! You have to use a lot of nail polish remover....this will make it spread a little, but for me that was ok.. Once I got out what I could with the nail polish remover, I put a mixture of 1/4 cup hydrogen peroxide and 1 tablespoon ammonia on it and saturated it. After that, I put saran wrap over it and then put a stack of books on top of it and left it over night. This helped tremendously! Then I just used boiling hot water, carpet cleaner, and a little more nail polish remover to get the rest out. It worked too. I posted this same question when it happened to me, so check the link below to see what people said about it.
Q:I am planning on getting a Carpet Python in a couple of months and wanted to know a few things about them as I am still learning about them and I like to really know about a snake before purchasing.1. Do Carpets like climbing when adults?2. Do carpets like to be held after their nippy stage?(After Maturing a bit)3. If I started him off in a big tank would it be ok? or would i have to use a smaller tank then progress?Any other cool things you guys know about Carpets I would love to hear about also! Thanks in advance! :)
Carpet Pythons are semi arboreal, so they will appreciate some things to climb on when they are young and old. But as they get older they will need some pretty sturdy branches. Depending on what locality you get, it may get anywhere from 6'-12'. Carpet Pythons actually mellow out a lot when they mature a bit. They are fine with being handled, and it'll make it easier on you. You could start off in a big tank, but you have to make sure that the snake feels secure. Lots of hides, branches, etc. Plus you need to make sure there's enough heat for the whole cage. I would start off in a smaller tank if you can, but you don't have to. And one other tip about Carpet Pythons, unlike most snakes, which are usually fed prey the size of the fattest part of the snakes body, they actually can eat prey that are bigger than that, and prefer it.
Q:I need one for the outside of the bath/shower. I have a regular small rug but it gets soaked easily. Ive heard about ones you get that are supposed to absorb water well. Any idea where I can get one?
Well no offense but I would say figure out a way to make your floor not so wet, whether it is buying a new shower curtain or whatever you need to do. Rugs aren't really supposed to be there to soak up all the water that comes from your shower. Not to mention all the germs (from the water coming out) and the constant being wet sounds like a good place for mold to grow. (Especially because bathrooms are so warm!) And all the water being around the bottom of your tub can ruin your floor and make it soft... this is a big problem that you really want to avoid! it can make your floor droop (feels like it's caving in) and eventually it will. If you absolutely have no way to stop the water from drenching your floor why not buy and over sized beach towel, pull your rug out and put the beach towel next to the tub. Wipe up the excess water and then put your rug back into place! Hope I helped! :)
