Is it possible to transform 2 identical single beds into bunk beds? Also is it safe to do?

You would need to drill at minimum 1/2 inch holes (Centered) into the tops of the bed posts on one bed then into the bottom of the legs on the other. Glue wooden dowels or (iron or steel pins) into the holes connecting them together, Make certain the drill used is the correct size to ensure the dowels are a tight fit. Secure ALL other connection points with metal brackets and you should be good to go. Last thing you need is for the bed to come apart, so secure everything that connects together as though the bed came as one piece. If the beds have slats that support the box springs make sure to secure them too. Basically secure everything to ensure it stays together. If the head and foot boards are of different heights you'll need to cut them to uniform height. Safe is relative to how solid the beds are, so use good judgment before proceeding. BTW...I did it when my kids were younger and it worked perfectly. I worked roughly 10 years repairing furniture so that should count for something I hope.

Hi,I just booked a hotel room for Atlantic City for 2 nights. There are three of us. Im reading that priceline will garuntee the room can sleep 2 people. The problem is I think this hotel (3.5star) put us in a room with a king bed instead of double beds. Is there anything we can do? I really dont want to sleep in a bed with another person!

You can always specify the type of room and number of beds you want whenever booking a hotel. Some guests need separate beds and some want to sleep in the same bed, so hotels offer different bed arrangements. Just make a request.

Anyone who has, or their children have, a captains bed...was it a good investment? Im getting my 4 yr old a bed (currently in a toddler bed)...i found a captain's bed i really like, but it is $349. It is well made, and sturdy, but i was really only planning on spending maybe 300 total, including mattresses. Now with this bed, plus bunky board, and mattress i will be at over 500. Is it a good investment? Did you notice them being sturdier than just a headboard/footboard? Thumbs up or down? Thanks!

I had a captains bed that really sucked, it was one large drawer that wasn't on a track so it was very hard to get out if anything was in it. Later I had one that was great and it can save a lot of space Load the drawers with heavy objects and see how easy it is to move them. On the other hand you can get under the bed storage containers that are plastic now, and those might be easier to clean.... if something were to get left in them and get icky.

try using apple bitters... its a deterant that comes in a spray bottle. he wont want to bite it if it tastes bad. i hope that helps :)

I am looking into a bunk bed that converts into two twin beds. I have a 18month old and a 4 year old. The 18month old climbs out of bother her crib and pack n- play. I would def put her on the bottom with a bed rail on the bed. But does it still seem to young? Space is a huge problem for us right now. If you share a room, it won't matter if you have single beds or bunkbeds. Try it out and see how it goes. Tell your brothers it is temporary unless you decide you like the arrangement. Also, with a younger sister in your room, the boyfriend needs to be kept out of it.

Just add more bedding and worm food such as unleavened corn meal and coffee grounds.keep the bedding moist but not real wet and it's a go!
