- Q:Please don't say wood/tile please say wood/tile is cheaper so I know exactly what you mean, lol. Does it depend on what kind of wood? I assume it does..For just the first floor, 1,040 sq. ft. THANKS!
- Hi, I'm Nick the Tile Man As time goes on tile will be your best bet. I would invest in a good tile so it will last and look good all at once. My web site has info for both tile and wood floor. Just click on the ads for information. Good Luck
- Q:I would like to redo my entire house in ceramic tile floors but money is tight. I‘m planning to do the entire thing with leftovers I can get from other people who have finished their own tile projects. Is it possible ot use wall tiles on the floor for small areas? Are wall tiles able to withstand the pressure of walking? Any advice?
- The small thin wall tiles (4 inch square one) are no good at all for floors they will break. The larger wall tiles are generally much thicker and will do the job upto a point. As has been said by others you have to lay them properly or they crack. The real danger in using wall tiles is the smooth glazed surface, which can be as slippery as ice. One drop of water on the floor and whoops over you go! I suggest you get proper but cheap floor tiles - buy end of lines or odd ones that will make a good pattern
- Q:Home in the decoration, weigh the room after the decision to put a large tile, in the end to choose high light or matte? Saw several of the matt are yellow and gray, not a little white, I would like to ask you what is the brand? Which? How much is the price?
- 2, to see the side of the granules of granules are fine and even, the granules are large, rough, then the brick body density crisp, the use of the process will certainly be a problem, give a simple example: you get the house is usually the embryo room, wall The surface is very rough cement surface, when you use the putty powder after the wall is relatively smooth, delicate, and you use such a standard to see just fine. 3, the brick stand up, hand tapping the brick body, the more crisp the sound to prove that the higher the density of brick, the better the quality, the more dull the tones to prove that the worse the density of tiles, tiles, anti-fouling, 4, if it is to buy polished tiles (600 specifications above the tiles), hand touch the brick body surface (hand back touch), start to feel the more smooth proof of the brick surface of the pinhole less, the higher the anti-fouling ability, as long as Do not worry about non-slip problems in the bathroom or in the kitchen. 5, the same color to see the surface of the brick surface gloss, the general floor tiles are placed on the ramp on the ramp, there will be above the spotlights or fluorescent lamps, you want to see these bulbs in the brick surface of the shadow (like a mirror The more clear the shadow of the brick to prove the higher the gloss, the greater the hardness of the brick body, the higher the durability, contrary to the more blurred the bubble shadow to prove the lower the hardness of the brick. Note: here I am referring to the polished tiles Oh, and then compare the time must be the same color, you can not use yellow tiles and white brick to compare, that is wrong.
- Q:Is it possible to remove just the top row of the ceramic tile on my bathroom walls without damaging the remaining tile? I‘d like to replace the top row with glass tiles for a more updated look.
- It is possible, but be prepared to replace the entire thing. Hammer and chisel is the only way.
- Q:does any one know where to find any harvest gold bathroom tiles?? it was a color that was big in the 70‘s but it is almost impossible to find it now in stores..does anyone know of any stores or webites that sell them please let me know i need them for replacements
- At one time there were a few reclamation stores that bought and sold old discontinued tile lots , but they didn t do well..You may now have to use a complementing color or just a white to replace .. If you have any tile at all I can help you tell what type and whos tile it was to get replacements to fit, since there are a couple of different sizes in the 4x4 tile ( which is what I assume you have to replace). Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar and check my qualifications there.. GL
- Q:I have gauges and scraps on my ceramic tile, i want to fix and even out the existing tile, then glaze it?
- Silly putty works best in my opinion...
- Q:Find the number of tiling a 2 * n rectangle with 1 * 2 and 2 * 2, given that the edges of the tiles are parallel to those of the rectangle.
- If you are tiling a 2 * n rectangle with 1 * 2 tiles, you would line up 1 tile along the end measuring 2, then, becasue the other dimension of the tile is 1, you would need n tiles For 2 * 2 tiles you would do the same thing except that each tile would cover 2 units of the side that is n units, so you would need n/2 tiles
- Q:Last year I had my bathroom remodeled. I had a new tub and tile installed. I asked the tile man to put the tiles together and not to have grout lines. He insisted that they HAD to have grout. I told him to put in the smallest, narrowest grout line as possible. Well now the tile grout is looking yucky. I know how to clean it so that is not the question. I just want to know why do you have to have grout in the first place? If the tiles are pushed up against each other with the sides touching and then put in grout in the very small area. why would a professional tile man insist that it MUST have grout?
- Because you dont ant water to be able to get underneath the tiles. However, if you push them close together you can caulk the seams with a similar color caulk.
