- Q: I'm looking for a dark green Oriental rug. The green should be a forest or emerald green to replace the previous rugs. Every time I look for these greens, I find various shades of sage, teal, seafoam, and olive. This is not what I'm looking for. It needs to be large (at least 8x10 feet), and be classy/fancy and durable enough to cover the wooden floor in the dining room. A floral or Asian print would be preferred. If anyone knows of such a rug, or where to buy one, please let me know. (Please don't just link me to or mention OKorder or Macy's or something. I've already looked there.) Thanks! =)

- Q: I asked about what to cut carpet with, but now I'm questioning whether I should cut the carpet out at all. A floor lamp I had fell over and burned a hole the size of a half dollar in my apt. carpet. I want to repair it so I don't have to pay for carpet replacement. Since it's an actual hole and not just burned at the tips, do you suggest patching the carpet?
- when I lived in an apartment, I burned a hole from an ashtray in the carpet as big as a baseball, my neighbor and I took the carpet from the baseboards where they are hidden and filled the hole in with the scraps (carpet fuzz) and glue that lasted till I moved out 2 years later I don't know what happened after that, it was not noticeable.
- Q: Okay so for the past few years I've been making latch hook rugs. They take up too much space and I was wondering if there is a way to sell these? I don't really have people to sell them to, and I was wondering how one would go about getting rid of these projects while not throwing away all your cash. I am afraid to sell them on OKorder because someone might accidentally be deceived and think that it was an unfinished latch hook kit, and be surprised to find a completely finished rug at their doorstep. - You could sell them on Craigslist. You can sell ANYTHING on Craigslist! Craigslist lets you post pictures, if you wish ... so potential buyers would know what they were getting.
- Q: What is the best way to remove cat vomit stains from carpet?
- I've had two cats that would overeat until they vomited. I think it was related to being abandoned kittens. Anyway, this is what I do on my champagne colored carpet: Pick up what I can with a paper towel, use the vacuum extension hose without the wand and suck it out of the fibers, Spray it with the liquid RESOLVE carpet cleaner and let it soak in for 30 minutes. Then I get a WHITE towel and rub the area clean. I get the vacuum attachment again and suck out the RESOLVE, the stain, suck up the fibers so they're standing up. Tomorrow, you can run the vacuum over the area and it'll all blend in. I get liquid spray RESOLVE at the grocery store for five bucks, but it's cheaper at Walmart. My carpeting has been through 4 cats and is 20 years old. Still looks pretty good.

- Things You’ll Need: Paper towels or clean cloth Rug Doctor brand carpet shampoo or dish soap Warm Water Sponge Hydrogen peroxide Step1 Blot the spill with paper towels or a clean cloth. Step2 Combine 1 teaspoon carpet shampoo (or dish soap, like Dawn) and 1 cup hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl. Soak a clean sponge in the mixture, squeeze it halfway dry, then gently blot the stain. Continue until the stain lifts. Step3 Sponge the stained area with warm water. Step4 Blot dry with a clean cloth or paper towels. ************************* Tips : Act immediately. The longer a stain sits, the harder it is to remove. Commerical products like Oxy Clean and Wine Away do an excellent job of removing red wine stains, but try this homemade version if you don't have either of those on hand.
- Q: What is the best way to clean stains on a seagrass rug? These are from a cat throwing up hairballs. We have tried water, Oxyclean, baking soda, carpet foaming cleaner...Any remedies would be very much appreciated.Thanks!
- Sorry to tell yo uthat the stains are most likely permanent. Seagrass, by nature is a porous fiber. Hence the stains have penetrated the fibers in the rug, and have become inherent, just as a dye would. Your best chance would be to completely redye the rug. It may be cheaper however to buy another, and keep Puss N Boots in the other room.
- Q: rug is wool. its new. it costs 80 dollars to clean with the company.. id rather do it by hand.what besides hot water and a rug.. do i put on it to clean it by hand?
- Check the backside of the wool rug for instructions, you'll find them on a sticky tag in the corner. Here you should be able to locate an 800 phone number. Call this number and ask for advice. For your own information, wool is cleaned with lukewarm water and a very gentle low PH soap. One of my customers brought me a $500.00 dollar wool area rug that smelled like burnt plastic. I cleaned it and aired it out for several weeks. It still smells. The 800 number in this case was of no use, as the manufacturer had no idea what was going on. If your rug still smells after a couple of weeks, take it back to the store and ask for a refund. Should let you know, in case you have a dog in the house, that they sometimes sense a competitive situation and mark the rug with urine. They will do this numerous times, not realizing the animal was a sheep. Keep it clean if you want to return it.

- You better just fess up to your mom. Using the wrong product can damage the carpet even worse. A carpet installer can actually cur a small piece out and replace it with new.
- Q: So last night I got rug burn on my face (fell on carpet and my face slid on it). My dad told me to let it air out, so last night i slept with nothing on it. This morning my mom calls and tells me a nurse she works with told her it needed to be really moist and hydrated, so ive had neosporin/aquaphor/aloe gel on it all day. The nurse said if it dries out and scabs it could scar, so keeping it hydrated wont allow it to scar. In the past couple hours a white layer has formed over most of the burn, what is this? And is this how I should be treating this burn?

- Q: I have a big rug in my bathroom (Not huge, its about 5' x 3').. it's thick and has a thick rubber back. I don't know how to describe what it's made of, but it's not the usual kind of rug you would find to go around the toilet (with a toilet seat cover to match), it's a more expensive rug and the threads kind of loop up and back in.. lol Does that make sense? Anyway, it's been in my bathroom for a while and I want to wash it but I don't want to ruin it. Help?
- You could try washing it by hand in the tub with soap or put it in the gentle cycle of the washing machine, or take it to the cleaners.
