Q:I am trying to replace my old water pump with a new one. I have the quot;special tooland everything but i just cant get the water pump to come loose at all. Any suggestions would be helpful Thanks
When you mean it wont come loose, do you mean you cant break the bolts loose or is the pump stuck on the motor like glue? If the bolts are stuck, try spray them with penetrating oil and let it work in for about 30 mins. If the pump is stuck, use a narrow putty knif, gently tap in between the pump and the block, and pry it off, then clean the mating surface completely to ensure the new pump seals properly.
Q:Where can I get a solar powered water pump for a sprinker? I want the pump to pull water out of a river next to my yard and water my garden and lawn.
you will prefer to comprehend the voltage that the pump needs and get a image voltaic panel that factors that voltage. additionally the wattage or the amperage would be a great ingredient. if the pump needs one hundred twenty volts then you definately can ignore this concept given which you will additionally choose an invertor and transformer given which you would be changing from A/C to D/C modern and additionally remodeling the voltage. a low voltage pump that in simple terms needs milliamps i heavily doubt exists. in different words this could be a damaging thought and except you prefer to spend upwards of ten grand on it then in simple terms run your self an extension twine.
Q:A pump, the flow rate of 30T/H per hour, lift 30 meters, should be allocated more power motor?
The actual use of power should be at least 5.5kW, I did not find 30t/H lift 30 meters of the water pump, and only he approached the model, supporting a larger power, and will not increase the power consumption
Q:My dad bought a boat this winter and when we got it we watched the guy winterize it. He was doing this white it was running on muffs. We got the boat to run today (on muffs) but no water was coming out the pee hole. This is the first boat we have owned. We are rookies. We also don't to take it to a dealer. Is there anything we're doing wrong? I don't know for sure what year the motor is i think a 1900 something. It is 90 horse.
Not to worry. If it was pumping in the fall when it was winterized then the tell tail is probably plugged. This happens all the time.Over the winter spiders or something will crawl inside the hose and plug it.The easiest way to clean it is with compressed air.Just blow out the crap. When you have done this if it still will not pump water then you will need to have a new Impeller installed in the lower unit.I suggest that unless you are confident that you can do it yourself you have it done by a dealer because without water to cool the motor it will not last very long.
Q:Hey all--I just paid $900 at the Volkswagen dealership to get my timing belt, water pump, rollers, and air pump replaced. Is that a good deal? Also, how does the timing belt replacement relate to performance? I noticed my car was a little faster than before (maybe it's because I was driving another car for 2 days).
You made a wise decision to have your car timing belt/water pump changed at the dealership as they are major components. I believe the $900 was well spent and will serve you well for many more years of safe driving. Unless the old belt was loose or slipping, thus possibly causing the valves to open at wrong timings, I don't think you will notice any difference in the car performance after the replacement, especially if it was a preventive maintenance at the recommended mileage. But I do believe you will feel some difference in terms of the engine smoother acceleration and responsiveness. The $900 spent can really do wonders sometimes, at least in your mind.
Q:2004 chevy impala 3.4 v6 The small leak is right behind the pulley of the water pump. Car is not overheating .the leak is only for a little while then it stops . water pump seems to be working fine but the leak ,what could it be ?
it's the seal - it needs to get fixed soon
Q:the pump is pumping hot wtaer from the hot water tank around the domestic hot water system, i.e to taps and shower.
These pumps can have their own bearing or they may rely on the bearings in the motor. Most of these are anti-friction bearings that have a limited life. Also if the pump runs dry it can over heat and seize.
Q:Why does the pump decay when connected in parallel?
Pump parallel mainly solves the problem of insufficient flow. After parallel, the flow is two and the sum of the pumps. When the flow rate increases, the pressure loss of the pipeline will increase, so the water pump flow in parallel will not be the sum of the two pump flow, but less than the sum of the flow rate. The solution is to increase the diameter of the water supply pipe, reduce the angle bend and shorten the distance.........
Q:My water stopped working and my tank emptied. I replaced the pressure switch and the gauge. It still didn't work. The well is about 110'. I pulled the pump and replaced it (1/2 HP, 10 gpm, 2-wire). It still doesn't work. The old pump was 15 years old. The one before only lasted 7 years. The water has a lot of sediment. I have never done this before, but it seemed straightforward enough. The wires on the pump were not differentiated in any way (same color). Could I have put the wires together incorrectly? Could I have put the switch in wrong? It doesn't click on when the breaker is turned on. What else could be wrong? Could the breaker be bad? It wasn't kicked out.
A two wire pump usually has a 120 volt motor. The neutral wire from the motor goes to the neutral wire at the disconnect switch. The other wire from the motor goes to one terminal screw of the pressure switch. The disconnect switch hot wire goes to the terminal screw right next to the first one. ( either the two terminals on the left or the two on the right. ) Sometimes people will switch the neutral wire as well. If the voltage is good, pressure switch contacts are clean - like no bugs having been smashed or caught up in between, then you might expect a break in the wire or the wire splice at the motor wire connection. If your old pump burned out you may have needed new wire also. Sometimes the wire will burn apart inside the insulation and make a bubble. If your old wire was in good shape, or you replaced it, you should have used a submersible splice to connect to the motor wires. Crimp on wire connectors should be crimped tight. Every now and then I find one that didn't get crimped on one side. Rubber tape followed by plastic tape over that splice is good. Some people like the plastic tubes with compression ends for a splice covering.
Q:The water pump in my 2001 PT Cruiser needs to be replaced and I'm wondering how much I'm looking at. I know it would vary and I know it's supposed to be labor-intensive but I thought I'd ask on here before I call my mechanic. We are trying to figure out if we should just go ahead and look at getting a new car. Thanks for any help!
They vary in price but at the right auto parts counter you might find a brand new or rebuilt water pump for about 75 bucks or so but no more then about 160 bucks. The labour on those takes a few hrs anywhere from 4 to 6 hrs or less all depends on the tools and the mechanic. Check around for the part and the labour costs and sometimes it's better when it's a job like this that will cost at least a good 275-400 in labour costs plus taxes to have the shop supply or sell you the part bec then the shop truly should warranty the part via their part supplier and warranty their own labour work too. Also some shops here in Canada charge from 69 to 89 an hr or higher but there are also some shops that will offer a flat rate for work done by them too.So if you have a shop wanting 80 an hr and to charge for 6 hrs or more they could end up charging you well over 600 bucks just for the labour alone. Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way if you do end up deciding to fix that vehicle there could be some shops in the local smaller towns that might offer you the lower rates due to them being family operated or owned etc and I'd try to find a shop that has done lots of that same vehicle make work.
