Q:PUMP RUNS BUT DONT PUMP WATER
I just had this problem in my boat.. It was my filter clogged up.
Q:Im looking at putting a little cabin on my property for hunting. i have a 200 gallon under ground water tank for fresh water. I'm needing a pump to run water into the cabin for a sink toilet and possibly a shower. does anyone know what style pump i will need so that it does not constantly build up pressure when not in use that way i don't burn it up.
The way wells work is there's a pump at the bottom. It pumps water into a holding tank that has a diaphragm separating water from an air charge. There's also a pressure sensor switch that kicks the pump on when the pressure in the water tank drops below 40 PSI and shuts it off when it reaches 60 PSI. Well water systems don't just run the pump constantly, or they would burn up. What you want to do is use your storage tank as a source. Pump that into a smaller holding tank from a well water system so that when you run the water you run it from the pressure in the holding tank. When the pressure is low enough the main tank pump will pump up the pressure in the holding tank back to 60 PSI and shut off again. It's well worth it to make sure you don't have leaks. Otherwise your main tank will end up empty and the pump will run on and on. Which is another thing you have to watch for. You can install a float level switch so that if the water in the main tank drops below a certain level it shuts the pump off. AND you can also have it switch a warning light on so you know when the big tank is empty. Hope this helps. '')
Q:Why my Water Pump is leaking again? It was replace 2 month ago brand new water pump?
was gasket replaced? if we are sure pump seal is failing..( check underneath at leak hole for drips e.g. tissue and mirror) then it can be swapped for a replacement and send back unit as unsuitable for purpose. are we running a hot engine? do we have an air lock? where air locks occur out temp gauge can show cooler than normal but engine in fact over heating. decent garage can sort.

The two source wires connect to L1 and L2. The two pump wires connect to T1 and T1. The grounds get grounded. When the pressure falls, the contacts pull together and connect L1 to T1, and L2 to T2, and start the pump.
Q:I'm using an old Mitsubishi Lancer. Recently I changed my water pump it was leaking.To me it looked like a piece of metal, with a small fan thing (not motorized) How can it fail? There is no mechanics to it, just like a pipe with a fan (or turbine)I also messed with my radiator, I unhooked the main hose to clean out the coolant, since the plug was jammed. Could this have contributed to the failing of my water pump?
That fan thing is called an impeller and when it spins it pumps coolant through the motor and radiator to keep it cool. It spins off a belt that is connected to the crankshaft pully and possiabley the alternator. That impeller and shaft spin on sealed roller bearings. These bearing will last a a lot of miles but they will wear out, and when they do the shaft moves out of round and wears out the seal that keeps the coolant from leaking out past the shaft. Over tighting of the drive belt will wear out the bearinge prematurley, but a pump will usually last 100,000 miles
Q:We use this water pump for about 2 years, and in the last week the circuit breaker trip when we turn on the pump. What should I check first for the problem?
When the pump motor starts, it engages a start winding that can draw enough current tripping the breaker in question. I would recommend that you change the breaker. It may have become weak after years of operation of said pump. It is a very good idea to dedicate a breaker for this motor. This configuration will insure that there's not another appliance in the circuit that may cause this problem of overloading said breaker when a limit switch closes to turn on the pump. If you have to ask the question you don't have the skills to do it. You could see if there's anyone in your area who rebuilds motors and ask them to look at it, but if it smoked it's probably dead. If you want to try some simple things, take it apart, dry it out and put it back together and see if it works. If does, see if you can see where the water was leaking from and see if you can seal it back up.
