- It is an extra layer to put under an outer rug for example it replaces a stable blanket that goes under a jute or stable rug. It gives extra warmth and rather like when we wear a blouse or a polo neck under a woolen jumper! It can also prevent friction which could cause sores or bald patches especially on the shoulders. I wish we had them in my day - a 5 foot girl trying to put two or three heavy blankets on a 17-18hh horse and THEN a rug is very hard work!
- Q:How to best remove the greasy dirt on the carpet?
- Scrub the carpet with brush dipped in strong brine or gasoline. Learn some knowledge about the maintance and cleaning of carpet. ①If the blue ink stains the carpet, immediately use rice to rub it, then use neutral detergent, such as washing powder to wash it. ② If red ink stains carpet, immediately use alcohol to wash it , and then use neutral detergent to wash it again. ③If the carpet is left with old ink stain, the stains should be soaked with milk firstly, and then scrubed repeatedly by brush dipped in milk. ④If there are grease stains on the carpet, scrub the carpet with brush dipped in strong brine or gasoline. ⑤If the shoe polish or paint stain the carpet, scrub the carpet with banana oil or gasoline , and then wash it with neutral detergent. ⑥If there are blood stains on the carpet, scrub the carpet firstly with cold water, and then with salt brine or lemon juice. Don't use hot water to wash the carpet, because the blood will be solidified cement in hot water. ⑦If there are tea or coffee stains on the carpet, smear glycerol on the stains, then use cloth with warm water to wipe the stains, finally, use neutral detergent to wash it. ⑧ The soy sauce, vinegar, milk, ice cream, beverage and others stain the carpet, firstly absorb the stains with a aqueezed cloth which soaked in warm water at first, and then scrub the stains with alcohol .

- The best thing I have found is hydrogen peroxide. Pour it liberally over the stain, rub in with soft brush and use light colored towel to blot. It has taken out the worst stains I have ever come up with. The best thing about it? It's really cheap.

- if you like a heavier carpet that would stand up to high traffic, then yeah. If it uses Stainmaster yarn, then you will have a great carpet. A 1/2 8lb pad really isn't necessary; a 1/2 6lb pad would do just fine. It all depends on your living situation: is there a lot of people living there? If so, a heavier pad would help with the wear and tear of the carpet. If it is just you or you and one other person,the lighter pad would do just fine.
